PGPD Investigates Homicide in Glenarden

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Glenarden. The victim is 22-year-old Pierre Rafael Edwards of Washington Place in Northeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 30, 2015, at about 5:00 pm, patrol officers with the Glenarden and Prince George's County Police Departments were called to the 2800 block of Hornbeam Court for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Edwards outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

PGPD Searches for Missing Girl

Davaughnie Day

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for a missing girl. She is 13-year-old Davaughnie Day. Day was last seen in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights leaving school on May 19, 2015, at about 3:00 pm. She has been missing for more than a week now.

Day is described as an African-American female, 4’8” and 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a burgundy polo  shirt, tan shorts and black shoes. She may be in need of medication.

PGPD Releases Photo of Attempted Bank Robbery Suspect

 
The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the community’s help in identifying this suspect. He’s wanted for an attempted armed bank robbery in Lanham.

On May 27, 2015, at about 4:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the 9300 block of Lanham Severn Road for an attempted armed robbery. The investigation reveals the suspect demanded cash from a teller. Ultimately, he walked out of the bank without any money. He fled in the direction of Carter Avenue.

The suspect is described as an African American man between 40-50 years old, approximately 5’ 8”, and 180 pounds. He was wearing a gray polo shirt and blue jeans.

Armed Suspects Argue on Camera Before Assault


These suspects look like they’re arguing on this surveillance video. We’re hoping to find them and ask. Our investigation reveals the suspects stopped by this convenience store on April 24th before committing an armed robbery around 10:15 am in the 1900 block of County Road in District Heights. The suspects assaulted the victim, threatened him with a machete and took his personal property before running away. If you know who they are, please contact 301-772-4425. Bank Robbery Suspect


Our Robbery Unit is working to find and arrest this bank robbery suspect. He targeted a branch in the 6200 block of Annapolis Road in Landover Hills on May 22nd at about 4:45 pm. Fast Food Restaurant Robbery


Our Robbery Unit detectives are asking for the community’s help identifying these two suspects. They’re wanted for the armed robbery of a fast food restaurant in the 5100 block of Indian Head Highway on May 19th around 10:00 pm. Please call 301-772-4905 with any information. Convenience Store Robbery



Detectives are also investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 2900 block of Boones Lane in Forestville. Two suspects demanded cash from an employee on May 19th at about 11:15 pm. The victim wasn’t hurt. Once they grabbed cash, the two suspects ran from the store. If you have information on this robbery, please call 301-772-4905.

Chief Magaw Responds to Officer Being Charged in Domestic-Related Homicide


The Charles County Sheriff's Office on Monday charged a Prince George's County Police Officer with first degree murder and other related offenses. These charges are connected to an ongoing domestic-related homicide investigation in Charles County. Officer Richard Conway was off duty at the time of the incident.

Our Special Investigation Response Team (SIRT) immediately launched an investigation and suspended Officer Conway when informed of the homicide investigation in Charles County.

“The charges against Officer Conway are deeply troubling, not just to me, but to all who wear our badge. It’s tragic that a man lost his life and another victim is hospitalized. We will provide whatever assistance is needed to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office in its investigation,” said Chief Mark Magaw.

Conway has been employed by the PGPD for three years, and is currently assigned to the Bureau of Patrol. He is suspended without pay.

PGPD Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Collision involving Child

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a motorcycle collision that killed a young child. The victim is seven-year-old Alejandro Santos of Cherrywood Terrace in Greenbelt.

On May 23, 2015, at about 4:00 pm, members of the Hyattsville City Police Department responded to the 3500 block of East West Highway for the report of a collision involving several pedestrians.
Preliminarily, it appears a motorcycle heading westbound on East West Highway collided with a car that was making a left turn into a shopping center. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle. The motorcycle then crashed into four pedestrians who were standing on the sidewalk at the crosswalk waiting to cross the street.

All four pedestrians, one man and three children, suffered injuries. Alejandro Santos died at a hospital a short time later. The adult's injuries are considered life-threatening. Of the two surviving children, one suffered critical injuries and the second suffered non-life threatening injuries. The motorcycle rider also suffered non-life threatening injuries. The car's driver suffered minor injuries.

Preliminarily, speed on the part of the motorcycle rider appears to be a factor. The collision remains under investigation. Once the investigation is complete, investigators will present their findings to the State's Attorney's Office for consideration of any charges.

PGPD Obtains Arrest Warrant for Suspect Wanted for Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl

Update: Isiah Bogan is now in custody. Our officers arrested the 20 year old at 11:30 am today after spotting him in a car in the 1900 block of Brooks Drive in Forestville. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took him into custody. We thank the many members of our community who called our detectives with information in this case. 


Isiah Tyrek Bogan

The Prince George’s County Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect wanted for the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in a Forestville apartment building. He's 20-year-old Isiah Tyrek Bogan of the 1900 block of Brooks Drive.

On May 13, 2015, patrol officers responded to the 2100 block of Brooks Drive for the report of a sexual assault. The investigation reveals Bogan followed the victim onto an elevator. When the girl got off the elevator, Bogan forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. He then ran away.

Investigators were able to identify Bogan after an updated description of the suspect was released via @PGPDNews on Monday. A tipster called our detectives minutes after seeing a media report that included the updated information.

Bogan has several distinctive tattoos to include the word "blessed" across his neck. He also has a birthmark or scar on his face. Bogan is a black male, 5'4", with shoulder-length dreadlocks and several tattoos, including a star on each shoulder.

Bogan is charged with several sex offenses, second degree assault and additional charges.

Credit Card Fraud Suspects




Please take a close look at these three suspects who our Financial Crimes Unit is working hard to identify. The investigation reveals the woman and two men repeatedly used stolen credit card numbers at businesses in the county in February – including in Bowie and Oxon Hill. Attempted Armed Robbery Suspect


Our Regional Investigation Division – Central Region is working to find 33-year-old Derrick Johnson McBride of the 4200 block of 55th Avenue in Bladensburg. He’s wanted in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Greenbelt last month. The investigation reveals McBride and a second suspect pointed a gun at two victims and demanded their car. McBride and his accomplice ultimately ran away without the car. Homicide Investigation


A reward of up to $25,000 dollars is being offered for information that helps us make an arrest(s) in the murders of 24-year-old Deangelo Green of Upper Marlboro and 35-year-old Rashard Jackson of Bowie. On May 15th, at about 11:55 pm, patrol officers were called to the 700 block of Audrey Lane for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Green outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at a hospital a short time later. Officers located the second victim, Jackson, behind a nearby apartment building. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. PGPD to Canvass Oxon Hill Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation



The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit will canvass the Oxon Hill neighborhood this evening where a woman was killed prior to being burned in an apartment fire earlier this week.

On May 17, 2015, at about 5:00 am, neighbors called 911 to report smoke in an apartment building in the 600 block of Audrey Lane. Fire crews quickly extinguished flames inside an apartment and discovered the body of a woman who had suffered burn injuries. The victim was later identified as Latiqua Nicole Cherry. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

A medical examiner ruled Cherry died from trauma to the body prior to the fire being set in her apartment. The manner of death is a homicide.

Preliminarily, Prince George’s County Police Homicide detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

Critical New Details Released on Child Sexual Assault Suspect

Prince George’s County Police detectives today released critical details on the suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in her apartment building last week in Forestville. The suspect has a tattoo of the word “blessed” on his neck as well as a tattoo of a star on each shoulder, all believed to be in black ink. He also has a birthmark or scar on his face. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in the case.

This additional information came to light after the victim’s mother spotted the suspect near the apartment building in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive around 1:00 pm on Friday. The mother lunged at the suspect and forced him to the ground. The suspect was able to get away despite our police officers’ quick response to the scene and the efforts of both a K9 and a US Park Police helicopter. We’re thankful the mother wasn’t hurt. The Prince George’s County Police Department does not encourage anyone to engage suspects on their own.

The suspect sexually assaulted the 12-year-old victim last Wednesday morning in an apartment building hallway. The investigation reveals the suspect followed the girl onto an elevator. When the girl got off the elevator, the suspect forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.



Detectives released surveillance video of the suspect Wednesday evening. He’s a black male, 18 to 23 years old, about 5’2” – 5’6”, with shoulder-length dreadlocks and several tattoos, including one on his left forearm. He wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap the day of the sexual assault and a white tank top on Friday when he was spotted.

On May 18, 2015, at about 2:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 3200 block of Reed Street for the report of a car crash. When they arrived, they found Samuels suffering from gunshot wounds inside of a car on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

PGPD Investigates Double Homicide in Oxon Hill

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a double homicide in Oxon Hill. The victims are 24-year-old Deangelo Green of Town Farm Road in Upper Marlboro and 35-year-old Rashard Jackson of Alydar Court in Bowie. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 15, 2015, at about 11:55 pm, patrol officers were called to the 700 block of Audrey Lane for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Green outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at a hospital a short time later. Officers located the second victim, Jackson, behind a nearby apartment building. He had also been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Preliminarily, it appears he ran after being shot and collapsed behind the building. 

The investigation reveals the two victims were standing outside when they were shot. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

PGPD Releases Video Of Suspect Who Sexually Assaulted 12-Year-Old Girl


Prince George’s County Police detectives today released video of the suspect wanted for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in her apartment building this morning in Forestville.

Patrol officers were called to the 2100 block of Brooks Drive at about 7:05 am. The victim told the officers she had just been sexually assaulted in a hallway.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect followed the girl onto an elevator in the building. When the girl got off the elevator, the suspect forced her to the ground and sexually assaulted her. He then ran away.

The suspect is described as a black male, 17 to 22 years old, about 5’6” – 5’9”, shoulder-length dreadlocks and a tattoo on his left forearm. He wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a red baseball cap.

Detectives plan to canvass tomorrow evening in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive.

Gas Station Armed Robbery

We know what he looks like. Now we need his name. Our investigation revealed this suspect pulled out a gun and robbed a gas station in the 7400 block of Annapolis Road. He targeted the business around 8:00 pm on May 7th. Once he had the money, he sped away in this SUV. It’s described as a champagne-colored Chevrolet Tahoe. Beauty Supply Store Robbery

Our Robbery Unit is also investigating a robbery at a beauty supply store in the 10600 block of Campus Way South in Largo. On May 6, at about 10:30 am, the two suspects stole several products from the store. One of the suspects had a distinctive blonde Mohawk hairstyle. They drove away in the above pictured burgundy SUV. Carjacking Suspect


Our Regional Investigation Division – Northern Region is working to arrest this suspect wanted in connection with an armed carjacking on Dean Drive on May 8th. He’s 27-year-old Donovan Antwon Shipman. His last known address is the 1700 block of 28th Street in Southeast Washington. Shipman has what’s believed to be a cross tattoo on his cheek. Prior to the carjacking, Shipman pulled out a gun, assaulted the victim with it and then took his car. The victim suffered injuries to his face. Detectives do not believe this was a random act. Gas Station Robbery



Two suspects robbed a gas station in the 11800 block of Livingston Road in Fort Washington the morning of May 10th. They walked in around 9:00 am, pulled out a gun and demanded cash. The employees weren’t hurt. If you have any information on this robbery, please call 301-772-4905.

PGPD Investigates Homicide in Capitol Heights

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a homicide in Capitol Heights. The victim is 18-year-old Reginald Bernard Brown III of the 1700 block of T Street in Southeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 12, 2015, at about 11:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4700 block of Pard Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Brown and four other men suffering from gunshot wounds. Brown died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital. The other victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victims were in front of a home when they were shot. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.

PGPD Conducting Death Investigation in College Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision involving a CSX train in College Park.  The victim is identified as 35-year-old Rebecca Ruth Selleck of Sheridan Avenue in Riverdale.  

On May 11, 2015, at about 11:05 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Calvert Road and Bowden Avenue for a pedestrian collision involving a train. When they arrived, they found Selleck suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the train was travelling from Baltimore to Columbus, Ohio.  Investigators believe Selleck was attempting to cross the railway platform when she was struck.

PGPD Investigates Sheriff's Deputy-Involved Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a fatal Prince George's County Sheriff's deputy-involved shooting in Landover. The deceased suspect is identified as 34-year-old Lionel Lorenzo Young of the 1800 block of Belle Haven Drive in Landover.

On May 10, 2015, at about 9:00 pm, deputies from the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 6200 block of Central Avenue for a domestic dispute involving a knife. Upon arrival, deputies noticed Young in a vehicle, attempted to conduct a traffic stop but Young fled at a high rate of speed. A pursuit ensued and ended in the 900 block of Nalley Road. 

The preliminary investigation suggests Young intentionally struck two PGSO vehicles, at which time the two deputies fired at the vehicle, fatally striking Young. Two knives were recovered from the scene.

PGPD Seeks Information in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

The Prince George's County Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to talk to anyone who witnessed or has information in a pedestrian hit-and-run in Temple Hills early this morning. The victim suffered critical injuries. The car that hit the victim is described as a dark-colored, 4-door sedan.

On May 9, 2015, at about 2:40 am, patrol officers were called to the 3100 block of Branch Avenue for a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found a man in the roadway with critical injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals the striking car was heading northbound on Branch Avenue when it struck the victim. The victim had been walking on the northbound side of Branch Avenue. The driver briefly stopped but then left the scene.

Prince George’s County Crime Solvers is gearing up to host its popular annual golf tournament on June 10, 2015, at the University of Maryland Golf Course. There’s still time to sign up to play in or help sponsor the event.

Prince George’s County Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization that relies on private donations and fundraising to complete its vital mission. PGPD to Canvass Mitchellville Community in Sexual Assault Investigation


This evening, Prince George’s County Police detectives will canvass a Mitchellville community seeking information in connection with a recent sexual assault. A flyer will be passed out that includes a sketch of the suspect. An up to $25,000 reward is being offered in the case.

On April 29, 2015, at about 5:40 am, a man sexually assaulted a woman in the 11000 block of Lake Arbor Way. Our investigation reveals he approached the 19-year-old victim as she was walking and forced her into a nearby field where he sexually assaulted her. He implied he had a gun.

The suspect is a black male, 20-30 years old, approximately 5’6” – 5’7”, with a thin to average build and freckles. He wore a black-hooded jacket and a nylon skull cap at the time of the assault.

Detectives will canvass the area beginning at 7:00 pm this evening in the intersection of Lake Arbor Way and Winged Foot Drive.

PGPD Arrests Teacher for Sexually Abusing Student



The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a teacher in connection with the sexual abuse of an elementary school student. The suspect is 39-year-old Erwin Magnaye of the 3100 block of Burning Springs Road in Laurel.

Magnaye is a teacher at William Paca Elementary School in Landover. The 9-year-old victim’s mother contacted authorities in February. The victim says Magnaye kissed him in a classroom and had also inappropriately touched him several times beginning in September of 2014. Magnaye is one of the victim’s teachers.

Detectives arrested Magnaye on May 5, 2015. He is charged with sex abuse of a minor, second degree assault, and several sex offenses. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Sexual Assault Suspect

Suspect Linked to Three Robberies


Our Robbery Unit is working to identify this suspect who is now linked to robbing the same convenience store three times since January. The most recent robbery happened on May 1st at about 2:15 am. The suspect walked into the store in the 7400 block of Central Avenue in Capitol Heights and demanded cash. The employees complied. No one was hurt. Detectives have linked this suspect to robbing the same store in April and February of this year. The tipster who helps us identify and arrest this suspect could get a cash reward. Pharmacy Robbery


We’re also working to arrest these two suspects who robbed a Beltsville pharmacy. The suspects ran into the business in the 10800 block of Rhode Island Avenue on May 2nd at about 10:30 am. Both suspects had guns. They demanded cash and prescription medication from the employees. If you have information on their identities, please call our Robbery Unit at 301-772-4905.

PGPD Searches for Missing Woman

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing woman. She is identified as 76-year old Carolyn Elizabeth Rabb.

Rabb was last seen in the 100 block of Sultan Avenue in Capitol Heights on May 5, 2015.

Rabb is described as an African-American female, 5’2”, 105 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Rabb was last seen wearing blue scrubs. Rabb was also last seen operating a black 2004 Mercedes Benz E-320 with a Maryland registration of 8AP1349.
