PGPD Searches for Missing Teens

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for 2 missing teenagers. They are 16-year-old Jordan Jennings and 15-year-old Sinthia Parade. Jennings was last seen on Grandhaven Avenue in Upper Marlboro on September 29th around 1:30 pm. Parade was last seen on September 29th around 6:30 am on Catesby Terrace in Landover.

Jennings is described as an African American female, 5’3”, 130 pounds with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white polo shirt, tan pants and a yellow backpack.

Parade is described as a Hispanic female, 5’1”, 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a black jacket, navy blue shirt, tan pants and tan shoes.

Detectives believe that Jennings and Parade could be together.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Early Morning Homicide in Temple Hills

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with this morning’s homicide in Temple Hills. The suspect is 32-year-old Carjandario Yarborough of no fixed address. The victim is 53-year-old Warren Bailey Jr., of Terry Street in Northeast Washington.

On September 30th, at about 12:30 am, officers were called to a motel in the 3100 block of Branch Avenue for a stabbing. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a stab wound. He died several hours later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and the victim got into an argument, which led to the fatal stabbing. The suspect and victim were acquaintances.

Yarborough is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.

PGPD Searches for Missing Man

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for a missing man. He is identified as 41-year-old Irving Daron Robinson. He was last seen in the 7300 block of Riggs Road in Hyattsville on September 28, 2016, at about 6:30 am.

Robinson is described as an African American man who walks with a limp. He is 5’8”, 150lbs with brown eyes and black hair. Robinson was wearing a green shirt and blue jeans.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Fairmount Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Fairmount Heights. The victim is 61-year-old Jeffery Matthews of Addison Road in Fairmount Heights. 

On September 28th, at about 8:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5300 block of Sheriff Road for a collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation reveals the pickup truck was traveling westbound on Sheriff Road when it struck Matthews as he was attempting to cross the roadway. Preliminarily, it appears Matthews was not in a crosswalk. Matthews was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck remained on the scene.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Temple Hills Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives arrested the suspect in connection with yesterday’s homicide in Temple Hills. The suspect is 24-year-old Kenneth Dwayne Britman of no fixed address. The victim is 60-year-old Roy Lee Clark of Brinkley Road.  The suspect and victims were acquaintances.

On September 28th, shortly before noon, officers found the victim suffering from trauma inside of his apartment in the 3100 block of Brinkley Road. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim got into a disagreement, which escalated into the stabbing.

Britman is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He has admitted his involvement in the homicide. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

PGPD Investigates Domestic-Related Murder/Suicide in College Park

The Homicide Unit is investigating a domestic-related murder/suicide in College Park. The victim is 19-year-old Farhad Siddique of 48th Avenue. The suspect is 57-year-old Nasir Siddique of the 1200 block of Mikara Court in Bel Air, MD. The suspect is the victim’s father.

On September 28th, at about 10:30 pm, officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department and the University of Maryland Police Department were called to a parking lot in the 8100 block of 48th Avenue for a welfare check. The victim, Farhad Siddique, had been reported missing to UMPD earlier in the evening. The victim and suspect were found suffering from gunshot wounds in the suspect’s vehicle. Both were pronounced dead on the scene. A weapon was recovered in the vehicle.

Detectives believe the father shot his son, then turned the weapon on himself.

Investigators in Harford County, MD, are investigating the murder of Siddique’s wife. It’s believed Nasir Siddique killed his wife at their home before travelling to Prince George’s County. Any questions regarding that investigation should be directed to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.

Homicide Suspect

We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with a composite sketch of the suspect we are looking for in connection with the homicide of 52-year-old George Barnes in Temple Hills. On September 8th at about 11:00 am, officers were called to the 2500 block of Southern Avenue for a shooting. The officers found Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at a hospital. The suspect is an African-American male, between the ages of 24-30, 6’0”-6’3” and weighs about 185-200 pounds. Anyone with information is urged to call 1-866-411-TIPS. Shooting Investigation

Detectives are working to identify the suspect in these photos. He’s wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting on September 15th at about 2:15 pm in the 3200 block of Walters Lane in Forestville. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot two victims. Preliminarily, this does not appear to be a random crime. Bank Robbery Suspect 

This suspect wore a unique disguise when he robbed a bank in the 4600 block of Old Branch Avenue in Temple Hills. The armed robbery happened on September 23rd around 12:55 pm. After running from the bank, the suspect was seen getting into a burgundy Chevrolet sedan with tinted windows and a DC tag. The suspect also has tattoos on his neck. Attempted Robbery Investigation

The suspect in this photo is wanted for an attempted armed robbery on September 15st around 7:30 am. The incident happened in the 4400 block of 68th Place. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and an accomplice walked up to the victim and demanded cash. The suspect then struck the victim before the suspects fled the area. Detectives Charge Suspect in Connection With Fatal Shooting in Bladensburg

Detectives with our Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a teenager in Bladensburg. The suspect is 17-year-old Erik Lopez of the 7100 block of Webster Street in Landover Hills. The suspect and the victim, 16-year-old Diego Gomez-Martinez, were friends.

On September 22nd, at about 8:00 pm, officers from the Bladensburg Police Department were called to the 4200 block of 58th Avenue for a shooting. When they arrived, they found Gomez-Martinez suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect was handling a weapon which discharged and struck the victim. Following the shooting, the suspect fled. He was arrested Monday evening.

Lopez is charged with manslaughter and a weapons charge. He is charged as an adult. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a $200,000 bond.

Detectives to Canvass Temple Hills Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation

This evening, detectives will canvass a Temple Hills neighborhood to gather information in the fatal shooting of 52-year-old George Barnes earlier this month. Investigators will pass out Crime Solvers flyers with a composite sketch of the suspect. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On September 8th at about 11:00 am, officers were called to the 2500 block of Southern Avenue for the report of a shooting. The officers found Barnes suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at a hospital.

The suspect is an African-American male, between the ages of 24-30, 6’0”-6’3” and weighs about 185-200 pounds.

The canvass is set to begin at 6:00 pm in the 2500 block of Southern Avenue.

PGPD to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint This Friday





Our Special Operations Division will conduct a sobriety checkpoint this Friday, September 30th from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Officers will focus on the southern portion of the county.

Detectives Charge School Bus Attendant With Sexual Abuse

Michael Patopie
A school bus attendant is now in custody in connection with the sexual abuse of two young students in his care. The suspect is 38-year-old Michael Patopie of the 4200 block of Alton Street in Capitol Heights.

The preliminary investigation reveals Patopie inappropriately touched two students, ages four and five, on a school bus in November of 2015 and in May of 2016. 

Patopie was arrested this morning. He is charged with second degree child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, assault and related charges. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections on a $500,000 bond.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a missing man. He is identified as 79-year-old Melvyn Douglas Connor. He was last seen in the 1300 block of Southview Drive in Oxon Hill, MD at about 10:00 am on September 23, 2016.

Connor is described as an African American male, 5’11”, and 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing a burgundy cap, beige long sleeve shirt, tan pants, and brown shoes.

Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting in Bladensburg

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the fatal shooting of a teenager in Bladensburg. He is 16-year-old Diego Gomez-Martinez of 58th Avenue in Bladensburg.
 
On September 22nd, at about 8:00 pm, officers from the Bladensburg Police Department were called to the 4200 block of 58th Avenue for a shooting. When they arrived, they found Gomez-Martinez suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later at a hospital.
 
Detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Capitol Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Capitol Heights. The victim is 25-year-old Jadene Brooking of Lee Jay Court in Capitol Heights. 

On September 21st at about 2:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 6400 block of Central Avenue for a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was traveling eastbound on Central Avenue when it struck Brooking as she was crossing Central Avenue in a crosswalk. Brooking was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car remained on the scene and was not injured.

Detectives to Canvass Langley Park Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation


Today at noon, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Langley Park community where a man was fatally stabbed in July. The victim is 33-year-old Marvin Diaz-Marin of Jasmine Terrace in Hyattsville.

At about 5:00 pm on July 27th, patrol officers were called to the 2000 block of University Boulevard to check on the welfare of a man. Officers found the victim suffering from stab wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection with this homicide. On the video, the suspect is seen walking and then minutes later running in the opposite direction.

The canvass is set to begin at 12:00 pm today in the 2000 block of University Boulevard.

Detectives Arrests Suspect in Capitol Heights Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives arrested the suspect in connection with this morning’s homicide in Capitol Heights. The suspect is 34-year-old Olayinka Kowobari of the 9400 block of Eugenia Park Street. The victim is 35-year-old Jodi Henry of Mary Place in Fort Washington. The suspect and victims were acquaintances.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim got into a fight around 1:45 am at the suspect’s home in the 9400 block of Eugenia Park Street. During that fight, the suspect stabbed the victim. The victim was taken to a hospital by a witness where she died a short time later. Patrol officers took the suspect into custody at her home.

Kowobari is charged with first and second degree murder. She’s in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Robbery Investigation 
We start this week with the search for this suspect. He is wanted in connection with two attempted commercial robberies. The armed robbery attempts took place on September 14th in the 3700 block of Branch Avenue in Hillcrest Heights and on September 18th in the 7900 block of Annapolis Road in Lanham. Our detectives are looking for your help finding the man in this photo. He is wanted in connection with a stabbing in Capitol Heights on September 19th. The suspect is 40-year-old Kenneth Hunter of the 1700 block of Brightseat Road. He could be driving a silver Chrysler 300 with Maryland tag “24646CE”. Commercial Burglary
Our detectives are also looking to identifying the above pictured suspect. This suspect is wanted in connection with the burglary of a store in the 12000 block of Laurel Bowie Road in Laurel. Detectives Charge Suspect in Connection with Death of Six-Month-Old Baby

The Homicide Unit has charged a suspect in connection with the homicide of a baby boy. The suspect is 48-year-old Lenwood Pearson of the 300 block of Zelma Avenue in Capitol Heights. The victim is six-month-old Demetri Hooper of Allendale Circle in Landover. The suspect is the victim’s step-grandfather.

On September 13th, at about 7:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the 300 block of Zelma Avenue for the report of an injured baby. The infant was rushed to a hospital where he died on September 16th. An autopsy later revealed the cause of death was trauma to the baby’s head. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

The preliminary investigation reveals the injuries to the baby occurred while in the sole care and custody of Pearson.

Pearson is charged with manslaughter, first degree child abuse resulting in death, along with first and second degree assault. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in District Heights

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in District Heights. The collision occurred on September 3rd. The victim died of his injuries on Sunday night. The victim is 59-year-old Phillip Brooks of Croom Road in Brandywine.

On September 3rd at about 3:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 7200 block of Beltz Drive in District Heights for a collision  involving a motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation reveals Brooks, who was on a motorcycle, was heading eastbound on Beltz Drive when he struck a truck parked alongside of the roadway. There was no driver inside of the truck.

Detectives Charge Suspects in Connection With Adelphi Homicide


Homicide Unit detectives arrested two suspects in connection with Saturday’s homicide in Adelphi. The suspects are 19-year-old Hernan Sanchez-Vasquez of the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace in Silver Spring and 17-year-old Herminio Gonzalez-Sanchez of the 8000 block of 15th Avenue in Hyattsville. Both are charged with the death 20-year-old Henry Lopez-Hernandez of Emming Street in Cincinnati, OH. The suspects and victim were friends.

On September 17th at about 1:30 pm, officers with the Maryland-National Capital Park Police were called to a park in the 8000 block of Riggs Road to check on the welfare of a man. When they arrived, they found Lopez-Hernandez suffering from trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspects and victim had a disagreement prior to the homicide.

Sanchez-Vasquez is charged with first and second degree murder. Gonzalez-Sanchez is being charged as an adult with first and second degree murder. Both are in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status. Both suspects admitted their involvement in the homicide.

Detectives Charge Suspect in Connection With Fatal Shooting

Detectives with our Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into the death of a man in the unincorporated part of Hyattsville. He is 21-year-old Eulises Alvarado-Reyes of Hamilton Street. The suspect is 18-year-old Henry Reyes of the 5700 block of Gallatin Street. The suspect and victim were friends.

On September 15th, at about 10:55 pm, patrol officers were called to a local hospital to investigate the circumstances surrounding a walk-in shooting victim. Alvarado-Reyes was pronounced dead a short time after arriving at the hospital.

The preliminary investigation reveals he had been shot in the 5000 block of 56th Place and then driven to the hospital by witnesses. Preliminarily, it appears the suspect was handling a weapon which discharged and struck the victim. 

Reyes is charged with manslaughter and a weapons charge.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Clinton

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Clinton. The victim is 23-year-old Kevin Maurice Washington Jr., of Alan Drive in Clinton.
Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random crime. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On September 15th, at about 9:35 pm, patrol officers were called to the 5700 block of Alan Drive for a shooting. The officers found the victim in his bedroom suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals a suspect(s) shot the victim through a window and then fled the area. Detectives are working to identify a motive.

Suspect in Robbery String in Custody


We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with an arrest in a case we highlighted last week. The suspect in the photos was wanted for three robberies in our county and additional crimes in DC and Virginia. Thanks to information from the public, the suspect is now in custody in the District. Help from the community is vital for all law enforcement to find and arrest criminals.


Convenience Store Robbery

We’re now hoping our community helps us find this uniquely masked suspect. He robbed a 7-11 on September 12th around 12:45 am in the 1300 block of Chillum Road. Please take a close look at his pictures and call 301-772-4905 or 1-866-411-TIPS with any information. There is a cash reward available.


Cell Phone Store Theft

Detectives are also working to find and arrest these suspects. They commited a theft at a cell phone store in the 4700 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights on September 7th  at about 7:25 pm. Drugstore Theft
The suspects in these photos are wanted for stealing from a drugstore. The investigation reveals they stole personal hygiene items and the walked out of the store in the 5600 block of Sargent Road. PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision Involving Bicyclist

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision involving a bicyclist in College Park. The victim is 77-year-old Robert Dickey of 38thStreet in Southeast Washington.  

On September 12th, at about 7:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Paint Branch Parkway for a collision involving a car and a bicyclist.

The preliminary investigation reveals the involved car was stopped at a red traffic signal on Paint Branch Parkway. Dickey was riding his bicycle in the crosswalk and attempting to cross the street. When the traffic signal turned green, the driver pulled forward and struck Dickey.
Dickey was taken to the hospital where he died several hours later. The driver of the car remained on the scene.

Detectives Obtain Arrest Warrant for Suspect in Sexual Assault in New Carrollton

Update 5:15 pm: We received calls from two alert citizens this afternoon who spotted the suspect at the Huntington Metro Station after we released his photo. Metro Transit Police quickly took him into custody. Robinson is now in custody in Fairfax County awaiting extradition back to Prince George's County. We thank these members of the community and our law enforcement partners for their help arresting this suspect.



Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant and are actively searching for the suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault in New Carrollton on Sunday. The suspect is 23-year-old Darren Samuel Robinson of no fixed address.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect broke into the victim's apartment in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue around 7:00 am. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and stole several items from her home before running out. 

During the course of the investigation, Robinson was developed as the suspect.
