Detectives Charge Suspect With a Sex Offense Involving a Minor

Prince George’s County Police charged a man for engaging in a sexual act with a minor. The suspect is 25-year-old Nathan Clinkscale of the 9000 block of Summit Circle in Upper Marlboro.

On April 30^th, at approximately 1:30 am, patrol officers were called to a home on Teakwood Drive in Upper Marlboro. The victim’s mother called police after finding Clinkscale in her teenage daughter’s bedroom. The suspect and victim recently met on a dating website.  

Clinkscale is charged with 3^rd degree sex offense. He’s in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Detectives Arrest Suspect for Homicide in Largo in March

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a man for a homicide in Largo in March. He's 50-year-old Price Grier of the 7900 block of Glenarden Parkway in Glenarden. He's charged with fatally shooting his daughter's ex-boyfriend, 39-year-old Omar Wright of Largo. 

On March 28th, at approximately 11:05 pm, patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Harry S. Truman Drive for the report of a shooting. When they arrived on the scene, officers found the victim in a parking garage suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot the victim during an argument. 

Grier is charged with first degree murder and related charges. He's in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Missing Man Found

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing person. He is identified as 76-year-old Oliver Wanamaker.He was last seen in the 10000 block of Quiet Brook Lane in Clinton on April 26, 2018, at 12:30 am.

Wanamaker is described as an African American male, 5’10”, and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing an unknown shirt/jacket, blue jeans and black slippers.

High School Coach Charged With Sexual Abuse of a Minor

Detectives today arrested and charged a high school coach for engaging in a sexual relationship with a student. The suspect is 23-year-old Charles Wolford of the 1600 block of Willowwood Court. He is a track coach at Fairmont Heights High School in Hyattsville.

The preliminary investigation reveals the sexual acts occurred between Wolford and the 16-year-old female student in the last week. None of the sexual acts took place on school grounds. Wolford is also a teacher’s aide at Gladys N. Spellman Elementary School in Cheverly. 

There are  currently no accusations of wrongdoing connected to that school.

Wolford is charged with sexual abuse of a minor, second degree assault and fourth degree sex offense/person in position of authority. He is in custody of the Department of Corrections.

Theft Investigation

Up first this Wanted Wednesday – surveillance video of a theft suspect. Please take a moment and look at this video. We’re asking our community to help us identify this theft suspect. The preliminary investigation into this theft reveals the suspect stole a wallet from a customer inside of a business in the 6800 block of Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill. Credit cards in that stolen wallet were then used to make purchases at several businesses around the county – totaling thousands of dollars. The theft occurred in January. Robbery Suspect

He tried to hide his face but we’ve still got a good look at this robbery suspect. Robbery Unit detectives are working to identify this suspect who targeted a game store on Silver Hill Road in District Heights. The robbery took place on April 22^nd at about 2:30 pm. Burglary Investigation

Detectives are also investigating a burglary at a pizza shop in Capitol Heights. These two pictured suspects smashed through the front door of the business in the 1400 block of Addison Road on April 18^th around 2:00 am. Once they were inside, the suspects stole cash. Detectives believe one of the suspects from the Capitol Heights pizza shop burglary is also linked to a similar crime in District Heights. On April 21st, at approximately 5:15 am, a suspect wearing a camo jacket broke into a pizza shop on Parston Drive. He grabbed cash and then fled the scene. Robbery Investigation

This suspect is wanted for robbing a restaurant in Temple Hills. The preliminary investigation reveals he walked into the business on St. Barnabas Road on April 23^rd at about 9:45 am. The suspect displayed a gun, demanded cash and an employee complied. He then fled the area. Anyone with info on this case is urged to call 301-772-4905 or 1-866-411-TIPS. Prince George’s County Police Officer Suspended

Prince George’s Police Officer Steven Pascal has been extradited from Florida to Maryland.  Today, the department suspended Pascal without pay.

Pascal was taken into custody in Florida earlier this month in connection with a domestic-related assault charge in Anne Arundel County.

Pascal has been with the department for three years and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.

Any questions regarding the arrest should be directed to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Our Internal Affairs Division has already launched an investigation into the matter.

PGPD to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint

The Special Operations Division will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am. Officers will focus on the southern portion of the county. This is one of the many checkpoints that will be conducted throughout the year.

Detectives Asking Community for Assistance in Identifying Man Who Exposed Himself in Lewisdale

Detectives with our Sexual Assault Unit are actively working to find and arrest the man who exposed himself in front of a young child. This occurred inside of a store in Lewisdale Saturday evening. Investigators plan to conduct a canvass today in an attempt to gather additional information.

On April 21^st, at approximately 7:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the business in the 2200 block of University Boulevard East.

The preliminary investigation reveals a mother and her daughter had been shopping together. It appears while the mother was briefly facing away, the suspect exposed and touched himself in the view of the daughter. The suspect did not touch the young girl.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a beard. He wore blue jeans, a black and gray hat and gray shoes. The canvass will begin at 5:00 pm in the 2200 block of University Boulevard East.

Detectives are looking into whether a suspicious person report alleging a man exposed himself to a child in early March at the same store is related to this case. At that time, officers reviewed surveillance video and conducted a neighborhood canvass. A potential suspect was not identified nor captured on video.

PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Adelphi

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash in Adelphi. The victim is 26-year-old Jose Hernandez-Rojas of Harriet Avenue in Baltimore.

On April 21^st, at approximately 4:30 am, patrol officers responded to the 8500 block of Adelphi Road for a collision involving a single car.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was heading northbound on Adelphi Road, when for reasons which remain under investigation, it left the roadway and struck multiple trees. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no passengers in the car.

Two Suspects in Custody for February Homicide in Capitol Heights

Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested two suspects in connection with a homicide in Capitol Heights in February. The suspects are 25-year-old Tre Branch of the 4700 block of Omaha Street in Capitol Heights and 26-year-old Pierre Queen of the 900 block of 48^th Street in Northeast DC. They’re charged with the fatal stabbing of 32-year-old Joseph Whack of no fixed address.

On February 4th, at approximately 11:20 pm, patrol officers were called to the 1300 block of Glacier Avenue to check on the welfare of a man in the roadway. When they arrived, they located the victim suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed Branch and Queen as suspects. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspects stabbed the victim during a dispute. The suspects and victim were acquaintances.  The suspects are both charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

PGPD Statement to Community About Ongoing Investigation Into Camera Investigation At a PGCPS Facility

On Monday April 16th, Prince George’s County Police Chief Hank Stawinski and Dr. Kevin Maxwell, CEO of the Prince George’s County Public School System, jointly announced the launch of a PGPD investigation into the placement of an apparent hidden camera inside an administrative office at a Prince George’s County Public school. 

In keeping with his pledge to the community to keep residents informed, Chief Stawinski wishes to update his community on the continuing investigation.  

PGPD detectives are in the process of conducting interviews and securing warrants, so they can analyze a recording system that was attached to a hidden camera device inside an office at a local public school.  By way of new information, the Baltimore Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is assisting PGPD in the forensic examination of the data.

At this point in the investigation, it appears the camera had been placed in a single administrative office for several months.  The location was an office and not a locker room or bathroom.   As stated earlier, it appears that the camera captured only video and no audio. 

Chief Stawinski explained, “The interviews and forensic examinations are processes that will take some time before I am able to bring definitive information to our community.   I am asking for patience and understanding as my detectives conduct their work.  Once we arrive at a point where we can confidently draw conclusions as to why the camera was placed in the office, who placed the camera there, who authorized the surveillance, and what was captured on recording, I will be able to provide our community with answers insofar the release of information does not compromise any ongoing investigation.”

In our ongoing efforts to protect the identity of the person whose office was apparently surveyed, PGPD cannot release any further information as to the camera’s location.

“I want our community to know that if, at any point in our investigation, we discover information that needs to be brought to the attention of parents whose children attend the affected school, I will do so immediately,” said Chief Stawinski.     

Missing Woman Located Deceased

UPDATE: On April 23, 2018, Mrs. Han was located deceased in Fort Washington this weekend. Preliminarily, there are no signs of any foul play related to her death. We extend our condolences to her family. 

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in searching for a missing person. She is identified as 34-year-old Hye Han.

Han was last seen in the 12000 block of Fort Washingon Road in Fort Washington on April 17th, at 7:25 pm. Ms. Han could be driving a grey Toyota Sienna, with MD license plate 8CL2991.

Han is described as an Asian female, 5’6”, and 115 pounds.

Detectives Arrest Three Suspects in Langley Park Homicide

The Homicide Unit arrested three suspects in connection with a homicide in Langley Park in March. The suspects are 43-year-old Jesus Urquilla-Guevara of the 8400 block of 15^th Avenue in Langley Park, 32-year-old Luis Sical of the 8000 block of 15^th Avenue, and 23-year-old Gilmer Sical-Dubon of the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace. They are charged with the fatal stabbing of 29-year-old Enrique Jacinto Miguel of 14^th Avenue in Langley Park.

On March 31^st, shortly before 3:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 1400 block of University Boulevard for a welfare check. When they arrived, officers found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified the three suspects. The preliminary investigation reveals the fatal stabbing stemmed from an earlier altercation between Sical and the victim. Urquilla-Guevara had admitted his involvement in the homicide. All three suspects are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives Arrest Man in Domestic-Related Homicide in Langley Park

Homicide Unit detectives charged a man in connection with the murder of his father inside of the family’s home. The suspect is 25-year-old Robert Terreo Figueroa of the 7900 block of Riggs Road. He’s charged with killing 51-year-old Roberto Figueroa.  

On April 17^th, at about 2:05 pm, patrol officers were called to the 7900 block of Riggs Road for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim suffering from a stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Figueroa admitted to killing his father. He is charged with first degree murder and other related charges. He’s being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives are also actively working to identify this suspect who is linked to an assault and robbery in Oxon Hill. This occurred on April 14^th at approximately 8:00 am in the 4400 block of Wheeler Road. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect stabbed the victim and also stole his cellphone. Our detectives are working to make an arrest in a burglary in Upper Marlboro. On April 15^th, at approximately 11:40 pm, this pictured suspect broke into an establishment on Marlboro Pike. Convenience Store Armed Robbery

This is the suspect our Robbery Unit detectives are working to identify. The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect targeted a convenience store on Laurel Bowie Road on April 15^th at about 6:00 pm. PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision in Glenn Dale

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Glenn Dale. The deceased driver is 22-year-old Samuel Oriloye of Good Luck Road in Lanham.

On April 16^th, at approximately 1:35 am, an officer on patrol on Glenn Dale Boulevard near Bell Station Road discovered a crash scene involving two cars. One of the cars was on fire. That officer and a fellow officer rushed to provide aid to the two involved drivers. Oriloye was pronounced dead on the scene. The second driver suffered what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation reveals this was a head-on collision between the two cars. For reasons which remain under investigation, it appears Oriloye was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Glenn Dale Boulevard.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was heading southbound on Temple Hill Road when for reasons which remain under investigation, it left the roadway and struck a pole. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no passengers in the car.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a double fatal collision in Capitol Heights. The victims are 34-year-old Christopher Jackson of 55^th Street in Northeast DC and 34-year-old Shadella McDowney of Alice Avenue in Oxon Hill.

On April 15th, at approximately 2:30 am, patrol officers responded to the intersection of Boundary Avenue and Opus Avenue for a collision involving a single car.

The preliminary investigation reveals the car was heading northbound on Boundary Avenue, when for reasons which remain under investigation, it left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives Arrest Suspect in Domestic-Related Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives arrested a suspect in connection with a recent homicide in Beltsville. The suspect is 23-year-old Canaan Peterson of the 1200 block of North Luzerne Avenue in Baltimore. He’s charged with fatally stabbing 27-year-old Antonio Barnes of Evans Trail in Beltsville. The suspect and victim were in a relationship.

On March 14^th, at about 10:30 pm, patrol officers were called to the 11200 block of Evans Trail for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim outside suffering from a stab wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect stabbed the victim during an argument. 

Peterson is charged with first degree murder and other related charges. He’s being held at the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

Detectives to Canvass Chillum Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation

This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit will canvass a Chillum neighborhood to gather additional information in a fatal shooting Tuesday morning. The victim is 51-year-old Brenda Swann of Rhode Island Avenue in Brentwood. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On April 10th, at about 12:30 am, officers responded to the 1500 block of Ray Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.                          

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and motive in this case. The canvass will begin at 7:00 pm in the 1500 block of Ray Road.

Detectives Arrest Suspect Linked to 8 Porch Package Thefts

Detectives released video of a man who is linked to at least eight thefts of packages from homes in the county. He’s 20-year-old Armon Holmes of the 2600 block of Luana Drive in District Heights.

On the video, Holmes is seen approaching two homes in the Capitol Heights area, grabbing packages and then fleeing in a white car. The preliminary investigation reveals Holmes stole multiple packages from December of 2017 through this March. Following an extensive investigation, he was taken into custody in late March.

Holmes in currently charged with theft and theft scheme. Additional charges against him are pending.

Here are some suggestions to help stop these types of package thieves:

*If possible, pick up the ordered item at the store

*Ship the item to your workplace

*Have a neighbor keep an eye out for the item if you know you won’t be home during the delivery window

*Have the item sent to a friend or family member who is home during normal delivery hours

*If possible, ship the item to an Amazon Locker, UPS Office, FedEx Office or Post Office

*Require a signature at the time of delivery

Theft Investigation

Detectives would like to identify this suspect in connection with a theft in Brandywine. The preliminary investigation reveals the victim’s purse was stolen from her car on March 15^th in the 15000 block of Crain Highway. The victim’s stolen debit card was then used at a business in Clinton. The suspect was seen driving a red Chevy Impala. Anyone who recognizes this suspect is asked to please call 301-749-5064.

Breaking and Entering Investigation

Detectives are working to identity this suspect who broke into a car maintenance business in Capitol Heights. The shop is on Hampton Park Boulevard. Robbery Investigation

Robbery Unit detectives are working to find the suspect who robbed a business in District Heights. The business that’s in the 5500 block of Silver Hill Road was targeted on April 7^th. The investigation reveals the suspect demanded merchandise from the store. The employee complied. Fast Food Restaurant Robbery

This suspect pulled out a gun and demanded cash at a fast food restaurant in Brentwood. This robbery took place on April 9^th at the restaurant in the 3900 block of Bladensburg Road. Prince George’s County Police Officer Suspended

Prince George’s Police Officer Charles Williams has been suspended with pay.    

Williams returned to Maryland Monday night after being charged with 1 misdemeanor count of resisting arrest without violence in Miami Beach Sunday night.   

Williams has been with the department for nearly three years and is assigned to the Bureau of Patrol.

Detectives Investigate Homicide in Chillum

Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a woman in Chillum. The victim is 51-year-old Brenda Swann of Rhode Island Avenue in Brentwood. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On April 10, 2018, at approximately 12:30 am, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Ray Road for the report of a shooting. Officers found the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and establish a motive.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Clinton

Investigators with the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit want to speak with anyone who witnessed or has information regarding a fatal motorcycle collision in Clinton on Friday. The victim is 27-year-old Jamal Shaw of Erie Street in Southeast DC.

On April 6th, at approximately 3:25 pm, patrol officers were called to the 9100 block of Piscataway Road for the report of a collision. 

The preliminary investigation reveals Shaw was on a motorcycle traveling westbound on Piscataway Road. A vehicle, also going westbound, changed lanes in front of Shaw forcing him to take evasive action resulting in his motorcycle sliding on its side. A car heading eastbound then struck Shaw. Shaw was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the striking car was not hurt and remained on the scene. Investigators are actively working to identify the driver who changed lanes in front of the victim. That driver did not remain on scene.
