PGPD Investigating Shooting at Illegal Car Meetup

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting at an illegal car meetup in the Landover area early Sunday morning. The victim is a 19-year-old female. Her injuries are non-life-threatening.

 

On September 13, 2026, at approximately 2:30 am, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 3200 block of Hubbard Road. The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound.

 

The victim was at an illegal car meetup when the shooting occurred. The preliminary investigation suggests a fight broke out resulting in the shooting. 

Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s). 

“This shooting is yet another reminder that illegal car meetups are dangerous. The Prince George’s County Police Department is going to continue stressing this important message. I urge everyone to stop attending these potentially deadly car meetups. I also urge all parents and guardians to talk to the their teenagers and young adults, urging them to not attend these events,” said Chief George Nader, Prince George’s County Police Department.

Shooting Victim Dies of Injuries

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation into a now fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. The victim is 40-year-old Dustin Evans of Washington, DC.

On September 5, 2026, at approximately 11:50 pm, officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Chapelwood Lane. Officers located Evans outside suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He died of his injuries on September 8, 2026.

Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Electric Bicycle

 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run involving an electric bicycle that occurred Monday night in Temple Hills. The deceased e-bike rider has been identified as 20-year-old Manuel Mateo-Molina of Temple Hills. 

On September 7, 2026, at approximately 11:40 pm, officers responded to the area of St. Barnabas Road and Stamp Road for the report of a collision involving an e-bike and an SUV. Once on scene, they located Mateo-Molina in the roadway. He died of his injuries on Tuesday.

The preliminary investigation indicates Mateo-Molina and the driver of the SUV were traveling in the eastbound lanes on St. Barnabas Road. For reasons now under investigation, it appears the SUV struck the victim from behind. The driver of the SUV fled the scene. Preliminarily, the involved SUV may be dark blue in color and may have some front-end damage.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. The victim is 33-year-old Brian Vasquez Rodriguez of Adelphi.

On September 6, 2026, at approximately 4:15 am, officers responded to the 2200 block of Lewisdale Drive for a report of a shooting. Once on scene, officers located Vasquez Rodriguez inside the driver’s seat of his vehicle suffering from gunshot wound(s). Despite life-saving measures, he died at the scene.

Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and determine a motive.

PGPD Investigating Now-Fatal Pedestrian Collision

 The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a now-fatal collision involving a pedestrian that occurred in late August in the Landover area. The deceased pedestrian is 50-year-old Tamica Wilson of Upper Marlboro.

 
On August 31, 2026, at approximately 1:10 pm, officers responded to the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and Columbia Park Road. Wilson was located on the roadway and taken to a hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. She died on September 4, 2026.
 
The preliminary investigation revealed Wilson was attempting to cross Martin Luther King Jr. Highway when, for reasons now under investigation, she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound. The driver was not injured and remained on scene.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Collision

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that took place Wednesday night in Fort Washington. The deceased driver has been identified as 24-year-old Blake Greenwell of Waldorf.

On September 2, 2026, at approximately 9:40 pm, officers responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Palmer Road. Once on scene, they discovered an SUV and two sedans involved in the collision. The driver of one of the sedans, Greenwell, died at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. The drivers of the remaining two vehicles were not injured. 

The preliminary investigation revealed the two sedans were traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway approaching Palmer Road while the SUV was traveling southbound. For reasons now under investigation, the three vehicles collided at the intersection.

Missing Teen Found

Victor Saunders 3rd

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing teen. He is identified as 15-year-old Victor Saunders 3^rd.  He was last seen in the 5200 block of Boydell Ave on September 2, 2026, at approximately 2:30 pm.

Victor is a Black male, 5'7" tall and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, black pants and Nike shoes.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting

Eu’nyus Maddox

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting on Monday. The suspect is 18-year-old Eu’nyus Maddox of Largo. He’s charged with fatally shooting 36-year-old Levelle Mills of Largo. 

On August 31, 2026, at approximately 12:05 pm, officers responded to the 500 block of Mt Lubentia Court East for the report of a shooting. The officers located the victim outside of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. Mills was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later. Maddox was taken into custody at the scene.

The preliminary investigation revealed Maddox shot Mills during an argument. Maddox and Mills are known to each other and live in the same residence.

Maddox is charged with second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Suitland

 The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday afternoon in Suitland. The deceased driver is 81-year-old Devereaux Shelton of District Heights.

On August 28, 2026, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Brooks Drive and Towne Park Road. Shelton was taken to a hospital where she died a short time later.

The preliminary investigation revealed Shelton struck the front porch of a property on Towne Park Road. No one was inside the home at the time. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash; Suspect Remains Hospitalized

 The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal collision that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Bowie. The victim is 69-year-old Deborah Saffran of Bowie. The adult male driver who struck the victim after fleeing a traffic stop remains hospitalized.

On August 26, 2026, at approximately 2:45 pm, officers attempted to conduct the traffic stop near Lanham Severn Road and Driscoll Drive. The driver is a suspect connected to an open and active investigation. The suspect initially pulled over but then fled from the traffic stop toward 9th Street. Seconds later, over the police radio, a PGPD supervisor advised officers to stop any additional attempts to pursue the fleeing suspect.  

Approximately one-half mile from the initial stop location, the suspect crossed the double yellow lines and crashed into an uninvolved car in the 12800 block of 9th Street. The driver, Saffran, died at the scene. A third vehicle was also struck; that driver was not injured. The suspect was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

At the scene on Wednesday, the PGPD consulted the Maryland Attorney General’s Independent Investigation Division (IID), which has declined to investigate this incident.

As with all fatal crash investigations, the PGPD’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit will refer its investigation, once complete, to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office for consideration of criminal charges.

Suspect in February Murder Taken Into Custody in Colorado

Jabari McCoy

The suspect wanted for a fatal shooting in February is in custody in Colorado. He’s identified as 30-year-old Jabari McCoy of Capitol Heights. He’s charged with the murder of 45-year-old David Downs of Capitol Heights.

On February 23, 2026, at approximately 11:20 am, officers responded to a shooting in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike in the unincorporated section of Capitol Heights. Once on scene, they located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Members of the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, determined McCoy was in Colorado. With the assistance of a U.S. Marshals Service Task Force in Colorado, he was taken into custody on Monday.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were known to each other. Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.

The suspect is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. McCoy remains in Colorado pending extradition to Prince George’s County.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Beltsville

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred early Friday morning. The deceased rider is 20-year-old Inmar Campos-Rivera of Oxon Hill.

The crash occurred on August 21, 2026, at approximately 12:20 am, in the 10700 block of Tucker Street in Beltsville. The victim was transported from the scene to a hospital where he later died. 

The preliminary investigation revealed Campos-Rivera was traveling on Tucker Street when, for reasons now under investigation, he lost control of his motorcycle and ultimately crashed.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing man. He is identified as 83-year-old James White. He was last seen in the 15900 block of N. Thames Court in Accokeek on August 17, 2026, at approximately 4:15 pm.

Mr. White is 6'0" tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans and walking with a cane. He is operating a gray 2007 Chevy Impala bearing Maryland tags 9HB1997.

Shooting Victim Dies of Injuries; Suspect in Custody

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a now-fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month. PGPD detectives charged 25-year-old Jeremiah Hammond of Washington, DC, with the shooting of 45-year-old Oscar Guevara.

 On August 7, 2026, at approximately 6:45 pm, officers responded to the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road for a shooting. They located Guevara suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he died on August 16, 2026.

 

Immediately after the shooting, detectives with the Gun Crimes Unit responded to the scene. Through various investigative techniques and with the help of Washington Area Metropolitan Transit Authority Police, Hammond was identified and charged with attempted murder and related charges by Gun Crimes Unit detectives on August 8, 2026. Hammond was transported to the Department of Corrections, where he remains on a no-bond status.

 

Homicide Unit detectives assumed the investigation following the victim’s death. Detectives are in consultation with the State's Attorney's Office regarding additional criminal charges in this case.

 

The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash in Lanham

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision early Sunday morning involving a motorcycle and a sedan. The deceased rider is 36-year-old Alonzo Bibines 3^rd of Glenn Dale.

On August 16, 2026, at approximately 3:45 am, officers responded to the area of Greenbelt Road and Aerospace Road. Once on scene, they located Bibines 3^rd in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was uninjured.

The preliminary investigation revealed Bibines 3^rd was traveling westbound on Greenbelt Road while the driver of the sedan was traveling eastbound on Greenbelt Road. Bibines 3^rd collided with the sedan as the driver was making a left-hand turn onto Aerospace Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Crash

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Friday. The deceased driver is 64-year-old Craig Stevenson of Upper Marlboro.

On August 7, 2026, at approximately 2:05 pm, officers responded to a single-vehicle crash in the area of Church Road and Oak Grove Road in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. Stevenson was pronounced deceased at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed Stevenson was traveling on Oak Grove Road when, for reasons now under investigation, his car veered off the roadway and ultimately crashed.

PGPD Cracks Down on Organized Retail Theft

An extensive investigation led by the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Organized Retail Theft Task Force has resulted in charges against multiple suspects involved in a multi-jurisdiction theft ring. This case was investigated in conjunction with Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office – District of Maryland.

Six suspects involved in this theft ring are currently in custody. They are 30-year-old Daryl Michael Jackson of Washington, DC, 25-year-old Cyan Rocke of Capitol Heights, 37-year-old Marco Morgan of Washington, DC, 31-year-old Tia Courtney of Capitol Heights, 26-year-old Chyna Parker of Suitland and 22-year-old Quasaan Parker of Suitland.

The investigation into this theft scheme began in February of 2025 after a series of retail thefts in the county. When the PGPD’s Organized Retail Theft Task Force was created in February of 2026, this investigation expanded to multiple states including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and the District of Columbia.

A team of PGPD detectives dedicated hundreds of hours investigating this organized retail theft ring. Preliminarily, it’s believed the suspects targeted more than100 businesses, stealing from many of those businesses more than once. Detectives estimate the suspects stole more than $500,000 worth of merchandise. The suspects would then sell the stolen items on social media or in private sales.

On Monday morning, the PGPD, along with Maryland State Police, the Metropolitan Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations executed six search warrants simultaneously in both Maryland and Washington, DC. Approximately $20,000 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered with attached security tags.

The PGPD is grateful for the partnership of the Prince George’s County’s State’s Attorney’s Office, the United States Attorney’s Office – District of Maryland, Maryland State Police, Homeland Security Investigations, Metropolitan Police Department and the Arlington County Police Department on this investigation.

Additional arrests are expected.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing Woman. She is identified as 52-year-old Colleen Nelson. She was last seen in the 3500 block of Woodcreek Drive Road in Suitland on August 7, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Ms. Nelson is a Black female, 5'5" tall and 235 pounds. She was last seen operating a 2021 red Kia SUV bearing a Maryland registration of 2GP7455.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Landover; Suspect Deceased in Apparent Suicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting Thursday in the Landover area. The victim is 41-year-old Malcolm King of Silver Spring.

 
On August 6, 2026, at approximately 4:40 pm, officers responded to the 6900 block of Stoddert Lane for a shooting. King was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased. Following the shooting, the suspect fled the scene.
 
Within hours of the murder, PGPD Homicide Unit detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the adult male suspect. The suspect and victim were known to each other. Preliminarily, detectives believe the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing business-related dispute.
 
Members of the PGPD’s Fugitive Unit, which is part of the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located the murder suspect Friday morning in the Baltimore area and pursued him to the Aberdeen area. Prior to officers taking him into custody, it is preliminarily believed the suspect shot and killed himself inside of his vehicle. No PGPD officers fired their duty weapons. Maryland State Police (MSP) are leading the investigation into the suspect’s death. MSP will release the suspect’s name once his family is notified.

PGPD Arrests Suspect in Fatal Shooting in Town of Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit assumed the investigation into a recent fatal shooting in the town of Riverdale Park. PGPD detectives charged 34-year-old Noe Castillo-Mendez of Riverdale Park with the murder of 44-year-old Dolores Leiva Hernandez of Riverdale Park.

 

On July 30, 2026, at approximately 10:15 pm, officers were notified of a shooting in an apartment in the 5400 block of Kenilworth Terrace. Officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound(s). He died at the scene.

 

The suspect was taken into custody a short time after the fatal shooting. He is charged with second degree murder and related charges. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim were known to each other. The motive of the shooting is under investigation.

 

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the town of Riverdale Park.
