Detectives Arrest Suspect in Town of Riverdale Park Homicide

Brian Keith Peters

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested and charged a suspect for a murder in the Town of Riverdale Park last month. The suspect is 24-year-old Brian Keith Peters of the 300 block of Anacostia Road in Washington, DC. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Raymundo Estrella Moreno of Washington, DC.

On January 4, 2021, at approximately 1:30 am, Riverdale Park Police officers responded to the intersection of Riverdale Road and 54th Avenue for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during a carjacking. The suspect and victim did not know each other. The victim was operating as a taxi driver at the time of his murder.

Peters is charged with first and second degree murder, carjacking, robbery and additional charges. He’s currently in custody in Washington DC on unrelated charges. The victim’s car has been recovered.

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur in the town of Riverdale Park.

Detectives Arrestan Sospechoso en Caso de Homicidio en Riverdale Park

PGPD Homicide Unit Investigating Fatal Shooting in Suitland

The Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday evening in Suitland. The victim is 15-year-old Rhyce Wingate-Bey of Washington DC. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On February 24, 2021, at approximately 5:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the 4400 block of Arnold Road for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died of his injuries a short time later at a hospital.

Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

PGPD Identifies and Arrests Suspect Who Fatally Shot Security Guard in Town of Riverdale Park

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and arrested the suspect wanted for the fatal shooting of a security guard in the town of Riverdale Park. The suspect is 24-year-old Desmond Mbah of the 11000 block of Blanding Court in Bowie. He’s charged with fatally shooting 23-year-old Riyadh Al Janabi of Rockville.

On February 11, 2021, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers with Riverdale Park Police and the PGPD responded to the report of a carjacking and shooting in the 5400 block of 54th Avenue. The victim was located in the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital. The victim was working as a security guard at the complex when he was shot. His car was also stolen.

 

Through various investigative techniques, the suspect was identified and arrested on Wednesday. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect shot the victim during a carjacking. The stolen car has been recovered.


Mbah is charged with first and second degree murder, carjacking and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status. He has confessed to the fatal shooting.

Our Robbery Unit is working hard to identify and arrest these suspects who are wanted for two armed robberies at pharmacies in the county. The most recent took place on February 22, 2021, in the 4700 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland. They targeted another pharmacy in the 8900 block of Woodyard Road in Clinton on February 16, 2021.If you can ID these suspects – Click Here!

Drugstore Theft 


A drugstore theft in Hyattsville is also under investigation. This suspect is wanted for committing a theft in the 3100 block of Queens Chapel Road on January 31, 2021. Assault Suspect 


Does he look familiar? Detectives are actively looking for this suspect. Convenience Store Robbery 



Next up, is this suspect who robbed a convenience store in the 4800 block of Marlboro Pike in Capitol Heights on February 13, 2021. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the business, walked behind the counter and produced a weapon. He stole cigarettes before fleeing. Theft Investigation 


Detectives are also asking for the community’s assistance identifying these suspects linked to a store theft in the 8000 block of Woodyard Road in Clinton. Fatal Collision in Capitol Heights Under Investigation

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Capitol Heights Tuesday afternoon. The deceased driver is 55-year-old Anthony Leon Williams of Laurel.

On February 23, 2021, at approximately 4:40 pm, officers responded to the 1000 block of Hampton Park Boulevard for a collision involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation suggests Williams was turning left out of a parking lot onto Hampton Park Boulevard when his car was struck by a second vehicle that was traveling on Hampton Park Boulevard. Williams was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the second vehicle suffered what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Choque Ocurrido en Capitol Heights

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque ocurrido el martes en la tarde en Capitol Heights. El fenecido conductor fue identificado como Anthony Leon Williams, de 55 años de edad y vecino de Laurel.

El 23 de febrero de 2021, a eso de las 4:40 de la tarde, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 1000 de Hampton Park Boulevard tras recibir información sobre un choque entre dos vehículos. Al peatón, a quien identificamos como un hombre adulto, se le declaró muerto en la escena.

PGPD Searches for Driver & Vehicle Involved in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Seat Pleasant

Update June 1, 2021: Investigators have identified a potential vehicle of interest in this case. We are looking for a Chevrolet Impala – possibly a 2008 – with Washington DC tags. The car would likely have damage to the wheel well liner. Please call investigators with any information.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information on a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run in the City of Seat Pleasant early Saturday morning. The deceased pedestrian is 32-year-old Curtis Andrew Parker of District Heights.

On February 20, 2021, at approximately 1:00 am, a Seat Pleasant patrol officer located the victim in the 6200 block of Central Avenue. The victim died several hours later at a hospital. An autopsy later revealed that his injuries were consistent with a person who had been struck by a motor vehicle.

The preliminary investigation suggests Parker was struck
on Central Avenue. The striking driver did not remain on the scene. At this time, there is no information on a make or model of the striking vehicle.

PGPD en Busca de Conductor y Vehículo involucrado en Mortal Choque-y-Fuga Ocurrido en Seat Pleasant

Fatal Shooting in Capitol Heights Under Investigation

Update February 25, 2021: The two decedents are identified as 19-year-old Anthony Bernard Hunt of Washington DC and 23-year-old Octavaughn Dickerson of Washington DC. 


The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is working to determine the circumstances of a double fatal shooting Friday night in Capitol Heights. A third adult male was also shot. He remains hospitalized. Preliminarily, his injuries do not appear life-threatening.

On February 19, 2021, at approximately 8:50 pm, officers responded to the intersection of East Capitol Street and Yacht Place for a reported vehicle collision. The officers discovered the two decedents inside of a car with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead on the scene. The third male who was shot was located outside of the car and was transported for treatment.  

Investigators have identified all of the individuals involved in this incident and are actively examining evidence and conducting interviews to determine the circumstances that led to the shootings. Detectives do not believe this was a random incident. Detectives are consulting with the State’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether any criminal charges will be filed in this case.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Tiroteo en Capitol Heights

La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s investiga las circunstancias de un mortal tiroteo ocurrido el viernes en Capitol Heights el cual cobró dos vidas. Los nombres de los fenecidos serán divulgados una vez logren identificarles y notificar a sus familiares. Un tercer hombre adulto también resultó herido por bala. Este permanece hospitalizado. De manera preliminar, sus heridas no son graves.

El 19 de febrero de 2021, a eso de las 8:50 pm, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la intersección entre East Capitol Street y Yacht Place tras recibir información sobre un choque vehicular. Los oficiales hallaron a dos personas fenecidas con heridas de bala dentro de un vehículo. A ambos les declararon muertos en la escena. Los oficiales hallaron a un tercer individuo con heridas de bala fuera del auto y le trasladaron para recibir atención médica.

Los detectives han logrado identificar a todos los individuos involucrados en el incidente y se encuentran examinando la evidencia pertinente así como llevando a cabo entrevistas para determinar cuáles fueron las circunstancias que llevaron al tiroteo. Theft Suspect

We’ve got a good picture of a suspect wanted for a recent theft. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect stole multiple items from a lobby of an apartment building in College Park. PGPD Investigates Fatal Shooting in the Town of Riverdale Park

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit detectives are actively working to make an arrest(s) in a fatal shooting Thursday night in the town of Riverdale Park. The victim is 23-year-old Riyadh Al Janabi of Rockville.

On February 11, 2021, at approximately 8:10 pm, officers with Riverdale Park Police and the PGPD responded to the report of a carjacking and shooting in the 5400 block of 54th Avenue. The victim was located in the parking lot of an apartment complex suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital. The victim was working as a security guard at the complex when he was shot. His car, a four-door sedan, was stolen.

 

Investigators are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect(s).

Robbery Unit detectives are working to locate and arrest this suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a laundromat. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects committed a robbery at a home on Weymouth Street in Upper Marlboro on February 5, 2021. Convenience Store Robbery




Next up, is this suspect who robbed a convenience store in the 2000 block of East-West Highway on February 7, 2021. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the business, walked behind the counter and produced a handgun. He demanded cash before fleeing the scene. Theft Suspect

We are also seeking the community’s assistance to identify and arrest these suspects. They are wanted for committing a theft inside of a drugstore on Watkins Park Drive in Upper Marlboro. The preliminary investigation revealed that on February 1, 2021, at approximately 12:10 pm, the suspects stole more than one-thousand dollars of merchandise before leaving the scene.

We are also searching for these two robbery suspects. The preliminary investigation revealed they targeted a gas station February 5, 2021, in the 15000 block of Marlboro Pike. Attempted Commercial Armed Robbery
