Assault Victim in City of Bowie Dies; Case Ruled a Homicide

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has assumed the investigation into a now fatal assault that occurred in the city of Bowie. The victim is 53-year-old Millard Noack, Jr., of Bowie. He was assaulted in late August. He died of his injuries on October 27, 2023. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

 

On August 29, 2023, at approximately 8:35 pm, Bowie Police Department officers responded to the 7000 block of Race Track Road. The victim was located in the street unresponsive with trauma to his head. He was taken to the hospital for treatment. He died of his injuries on October 27, 2023. An autopsy ruled the victim died from blunt force trauma and the manner was ruled a homicide.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the unidentified suspect struck the victim causing critical head injuries. The suspect then ran from the scene. The motive for the fatal assault is under investigation.

 

The PGPD investigates all homicides that occur in the city of Bowie.

Detectives Arrest Suspects in Fort Washington Homicide

Prince Georges County Police Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested two suspects in connection with a murder on Friday in Fort Washington. The victim is 30-year-old Desmond Thomas of Laurel. The suspects are 54-year-old Kenneth Elwood Smith of Fort Washington and 18-year-old Lamont Scott of Fort Washington.

 

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers with Maryland-National Capital Park Police responded to a park in the 2300 block of Old Fort Road for a reported shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from gunshot wounds and a stab wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second adult male also suffered a gunshot wound. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

 

The preliminary investigation revealed the suspects fatally assaulted the victim during a dispute. The suspects and victims were not known to each other.

 

Smith is charged with second degree murder and related charges. Scott is charged with first degree murder and related charges. Both are in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

 

The Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all homicides that occur on Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission property.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting in Clinton

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in Clinton on Saturday. The victim is 17-year-old Mekai Johnson of Waldorf. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.   

On October 28, 2023, at approximately 1:55 pm, officers responded to the 7900 block of Green Street for the report of a shooting. The officers located the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

 

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances of this incident and identify the suspect(s).

PGPD Investigating Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Friday in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville. The victim is 27-year-old William Crocket of Washington, DC. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.     

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 8:00 am, officers responded to the 400 block of Chillum Road for the report of an unresponsive man outside at an apartment complex. Officers located the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

  

Investigators are working to determine a motive and identify a suspect(s).

Detectives Identify and Charge Suspect in 2022 Double Fatal Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged a suspect in connection with a double fatal shooting in Bladensburg in December 2022. The suspect is 35-year-old Dwayne Richardson of Bladensburg. He is charged with the murders of 29-year-old Abdul Bah of no fixed address and 29-year-old Moshood Akinrinsola of Beltsville. 

On December 7, 2022, at approximately 3:40 am, officers responded to the 5400 block of Annapolis Road for a collision. Officers located both victims inside of an SUV suffering from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead on the scene.

 

Through various investigative techniques, detectives identified Richardson as the suspect. The suspect and victims were known to each other. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

 

Richardson is charged with two counts of first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.

PGPD Investigating Fatal Stabbing in the City of Bowie

 The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal stabbing that took place inside of a home in the city of Bowie. The decedent is 57-year-old Samuel Lee West of Burlington, North Carolina.

 

On October 23, 2023, at approximately 7:05 am, Bowie Police Department officers responded to a home in the 2700 block of Balsam Place for the report of a residential burglary. The preliminary investigation revealed at least two suspects attempted to force their way into the home after pepper spraying an adult resident at the front door. At least one suspect had a gun. The resident stabbed one of the suspects when they made it into the foyer. The suspects then fled the home. The injured suspect was dropped off at a hospital where he died a short time later. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random incident.  

 

Detectives are consulting with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether any charges would be appropriate.

Suspect in Custody for Domestic-Related Homicide in Suitland

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit charged a suspect in connection with a domestic-related fatal stabbing in Suitland. The suspect is 25-year-old Eric Anthony King of no fixed address. He is charged with fatally stabbing 33-year-old Diamond Abney of Suitland. The suspect and victim were previously in a relationship.

On October 23, 2023, at approximately 11:50 am, officers responded to an apartment in the 3300 block of Curtis DriveWhen they arrived, officers discovered Abney unresponsive suffering from stab wounds. She died a short time later at a hospital. 

After stabbing the victim, King fled the scene. With the assistance of the Prince William County Police Department (VA), he was located and taken into custody without incident at a motel in Dumfries, Virginia, early this morning.

King is charged with first and second-degree murder and related charges. He remains in custody in Prince William County pending extradition to Prince George’s County.
