Two Suspects Arrested in the Murder of Maryland State Trooper Wesley Brown

Prince George’s County, Maryland…The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide unit along with the assistance of the Maryland State Police and the Metropolitan Police Department has arrested two suspects in the murder of a Maryland State Trooper.

Anthony Anderson Milton, 28, of the 7000 block of 71st Court in Seat Pleasant and Cyril Cornelius Williams, 27, of the 6800 block of Seat Pleasant Drive in Seat Pleasant were both charged with first degree murder.

Trooper Wesley Brown, 24, was working part-time as a security officer for the Applebee’s located in the 3400 block of Donnell Drive in Forestville. While working, Trooper Brown encountered a disorderly patron and escorted him out of the restaurant. A short time later Trooper Brown stepped outside of the establishment to make a phone call when an unknown suspect opened fire on him, striking him multiple times. The Trooper was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Trooper Wesley Brown was assigned to the Maryland State Police / Forestville Barrack. He graduated from the police academy in October of 2006 and was a 3 ½ year veteran of the force.

“I am very proud of my homicide detectives and all of the law enforcement agencies for solving this case so quickly. This helps with the grieving process of family and friends honoring Trooper Brown’s memory knowing that two violent predators were removed from the streets. These types of cases are often very difficult to solve, and it was through the hard work and determination of the community, Prince George’s County Crime Solvers, Applebee’s and all media outlets that helped close this case quickly,” said Chief of Police Roberto L. Hylton.
