PGPD District IV Hosts Community Walk on Marcy Avenue

Prince George’s County, Maryland… Prince George's County Police Chief Mark Magaw, District IV Commander, Major James A. Harper and the District IV COPS office joined community leaders and residents of the Glassmanor community for a “Community Walk” along Marcy Avenue in Oxon Hill.

The event was designed to maintain an open dialogue between the community and the police department. The “Community Walk” provided an opportunity for the District IV Command Staff to address residents’ concerns about crime and safety.

“We will continue to come out and walk with the communities that we serve. It is important that we engage the citizens face to face to find out what issues affect them. Collaboration between the police department and the community is vital if we are to create new strategies in combating crime,” said Major James Harper.
