First Night Club Shuttered Under New Dance Hall Bill

Prince George’s County Maryland… The Music, Sports and Games (MSG) night club located in the 7900 block of Central Avenue, Capitol Heights, was closed by the Department of Environmental Resources on August 8, 2011.

This is the first club to be closed under the new CB-18-2011 bill, which was recently introduced by County Council Member Karen R. Toles. On Tuesday, August 9th, the Prince George’s County Police Department criminally charged Erik Pickens, Darryl Robinson, Ronald Dixon and Jerome Tillery, all of Capitol Heights, with operating without a dance hall license. The misdemeanor offense carries up to six months in jail, a $1000 fine or both.

District III Commander Major George Nader stated, “This bill lets night club owners know that they are being held accountable for the crimes that occur at their establishments.”
