The Prince George’s County
Police Department’s Homicide Unit has obtained an arrest warrant for 26 year-old
Tyrone Lewis in connection with the homicide of Lenwood “Lenny” Harris in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Homicide detectives
developed Lewis, of Temple Hills, 20 year-old Ivan Newman, of Waldorf, and 49
year-old Linwood Johnson, of Oxon Hill, as suspects. Lewis is being held on detainer for First Degree
Murder, Robbery, and Reckless Endangerment.
Newman has been charged with First Degree Murder, Robbery, and Kidnapping. Johnson has been charged with First Degree Murder. Lewis is currently detained in the Fairfax
County Adult Detention Center on unrelated charges. Both Newman and Johnson have been remanded to
the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections on a no bond status. The investigation revealed the motive was
robbery. This is an ongoing
investigation.
On January 26, 2012, at
approximately 12:07 p.m., police received an anonymous call that a body was in
a well in the 11900 block of Old Fort Road.
Patrol officers arrived on scene and established a crime scene. With the assistance of the Prince George’s
County Fire Department, Department of Environmental Resources, the Department
of Public Works, the Health Department and the excavating company, “Dirt Plus”,
the body was recovered on Saturday, January 28, 2012. The Medical Examiner’s Office positively identified the body on Sunday, January 29, 2012.
