SHADYSIDE PCP DISTRIBUTOR SENTENCED TO 70 MONTHS IN PRISON

PCP Trafficking Scheme Uncovered as a Result of a Long Term Investigation Led by the DEA, along with the Prince George’s County and Anne Arundel County Police Departments,

the U.S. Park Police and the Maryland State Police

        Greenbelt, Maryland - U.S. District Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. sentenced Troy Orlando Tongue, age 36, of Shadyside, Maryland today to 70 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for conspiring to distribute and possessing with intent to distribute phencyclidine (PCP).

        The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; Chief Mark A. Magaw of the Prince George’s County Police Department; Anne Arundel County Police Chief James Teare, Sr.; Chief Teresa Chambers of the U.S. Park Police; and Colonel Marcus L. Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.

       According to Tongue’s plea agreement, from August through November 2009, an undercover officer (UC) made six purchases of PCP from Tongue whose source of supply was co-conspirator Marvin Duckett.  The UC would meet Tongue in Shadyside and they would travel to  locations in Prince George’s County to purchase the PCP from Duckett.  The UC provided a total of $9,900 to obtain 292.9 grams total net weight of a mixture containing PCP.
     
           Following further investigation, the DEA, the Prince George’s County Police Department and the Anne Arundel County Police Department executed 11 search warrants at a number of locations associated with Tongue and his co-conspirators.  During the course of this 17 month-long investigation, law enforcement seized a total of approximately 283 ounces of liquid PCP, 5.6 grams of cocaine, two handguns and a Mercedes Benz CL 500.

           Tongue is responsible for distributing at least 100 grams of PCP or at least one kilogram of a mixture containing PCP.

        Marvin Antoin Duckett, age 39, of Forestville, Maryland, was sentenced on February 24, 2012 to 20 years in prison for the conspiracy.
   
           United States Attorney Rod J.
