PGPD Investigates Murder in Lanham

Updated December 14, 2012 at 9:00 pm:  Detectives have identified the murder victim as 39 year-old Kevin James, of the 10100 block of Old Franklin Avenue in Lanham.  The investigation is ongoing.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in Lanham. 

On December 12, 2012, at 3:10 pm, police officers responded to the 10100 block of Old Franklin Ave in Lanham for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police officers discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation suggests this was not a random crime.  Detectives are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.
