PGPD On Inauguration Duty

The Prince George’s County Police Department is assisting the Metropolitan Police Department with security for the Inauguration of President Barack Obama on January 21, 2013.  Nearly 50 members of the PGPD will join an estimated 1,200 police officers from across the country for the event that’s expected to attract hundreds of thousands of spectators.

Our police officers will be stationed near 12th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest, Washington DC.  The Special Operations Division’s Marine Unit will also be assisting the U.S. Coast Guard in protecting the waterway along the Potomac River.
