PGPD Joins Riverdale Park Police in Multi-Jurisdictional Sobriety Checkpoints

Updated March 4, 2013:  The operation to combat impaired driving was a success.  More than 1600 vehicles passed through the two checkpoints.  Six drivers were found to be impaired, and were arrested for driving under the influence.

The Prince George’s County Police Department, in partnership with Riverdale Park Police and other area police departments, will be teaming up to combat unsafe and impaired driving this weekend.  Officers will be conducting two sobriety checkpoints simultaneously on March 2, 2013, between 9:00 pm and 1:00 am.  The checkpoints will be in the 5200 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland and the 5500 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Riverdale.
