PGPD Investigating ATM Theft

Updated August 2, 2013: Detectives are investigating a similar theft of an ATM, which may be related to the theft we reported earlier today. On August 1, 2013 at approximately 4:00 am, patrol officers were called to the Xtra Fuels gas station in the 3700 block of Crain Highway for a theft. The suspects used a stolen white Ford pickup truck to knock over and steal the ATM machine that was bolted outside the location. The truck has since been recovered in Northeast Washington. Detectives urge anyone with information on these thefts to contact the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Southern Regional Investigation Division at (301) 749-5064. Updated August 2, 2013:  A black truck and ATM have been recovered in Northeast Washington.  Detectives are working to confirm if it’s the truck wanted in connection with the theft in Fort Washington. Surveillance video from the theft is posted below.





The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating the theft of an ATM from a gas station in Fort Washington.

On August 2, 2013 at approximately 3:45 am, patrol officers were called to the Exxon Mobil gas station in the 10800 block of Indian Head Highway for a theft.  Two suspects smashed a dark-colored pickup truck through the front of the gas station and pushed the ATM into the bed of the truck.  The suspects then drove off with the ATM.

Detectives are investigating the possibility this incident is linked with the theft of an ATM which occurred a short time later in the District of Columbia.
