Jose Feliciano Gomez-Lopez
On August 3, 2013, at approximately 2:45 am, Gomez-Lopez approached the victim as she walked into an apartment building in the 8100 block of Baltimore Avenue. Gomez-Lopez exposed himself and forced the woman to the ground. Gomez-Lopez continued to assault her as she fought back and screamed for help. A resident heard the screams and interrupted the assault. That’s when Gomez-Lopez ran away. The victim is not a student at the University of Maryland.
Detectives were able to quickly identify Gomez-Lopez as the suspect. Gomez-Lopez was arrested at his home on August 4, 2013. He has admitted his involvement in the assault. He is charged with attempted second degree rape and is currently in custody at the Department of Corrections.

I cannot believe how overtly despicable sexual predators can be. Having a daughter in this world at this time causes me great fear. It's crazy how we need to teach our young women to be so "on the offensive" in order to be safe. If this guy is found guilty, justice NEEDS to be served, and I doubt it would've been his first offense.
