The Prince George’s County Police Department’s District I
Community Oriented Police Section (COPS) will distribute free Child ID Kits
this Wednesday as part of a “back to school” initiative. At a recent
event in College Park, more than 50 children received kits.
Once completed, these kits contain vital information
detectives would need to know about your child in the unlikely event your
child ever goes missing. The kit
includes an emergency contact sheet, the child’s picture, DNA and fingerprints.
The packages are also designed to
educate parents and children on ways to stay safe and avoid a potential abduction.
Parents take home the completed kits.
