On October 23, 2013, at about 12:45 am, patrol officers were called to the 7100 block of Riverdale Road for the report of a collision. When they arrived, they discovered two vehicles had been involved in an apparent head on collision. Bonilla later died of his injuries at a local hospital.
The preliminary investigation suggests Bonilla was heading eastbound on Riverdale Road in a pickup truck. For reasons which remain unclear, Bonilla’s pickup crossed into the westbound lanes and struck an SUV. The SUV’s driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Preliminarily, alcohol may be a factor in this crash.
