PGPD Investigates Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision in Landover


Updated December 2, 2013: The victim is identified as 33-year-old Akil Anthony Ross of the 800 block of Rambler Drive in Adelphi.  Anyone with information about this case is urged to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 731-4422.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.  You won't have to give your name.  A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

Investigators Seeking Community’s Help in Identifying Driver(s)

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Landover.  Investigators are working to identify the driver(s) who fled the scene and anyone else who has information about this collision.  A cash reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On November 22, 2013, at about 8:40 pm, patrol officers were called to Pinebrook Avenue and Landover Road for a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, patrol officers found an unresponsive man in the roadway.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigators believe the man was trying to cross Landover Road when he was struck by one or more cars.
