PGPD Investigates Possible Weather-Related Death in Oxon Hill

Updated January 9, 2014: The medical examiner has not yet ruled on a cause of death. Further tests are being conducted. Those results could take several weeks to be completed.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a possible weather-related death after a man’s body was found outside in Oxon Hill.

On January 7, 2014, at about 10:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 4700 block of Allentown Road for a welfare check.  When they arrived, they found a man unresponsive behind a business.  He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation does not reveal any foul play. Detectives are looking into whether the cold weather played any role in the man’s death.  Preliminarily, it appears the man was homeless.  Detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
