PGPD Investigates Fatal Collision in Brentwood

Updated March 6, 2014: The victim is identified as 54-year-old James Kevin Green, of the 1200 block of Missouri Avenue in Northwest Washington.

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in Brentwood.  

On March 5, 2014, at about 11:00 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of 38th Street and Rhode Island Avenue for the report of a single car crash.  The driver was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The preliminary investigation reveals the victim was heading westbound on 38th Street approaching Rhode Island Avenue when reasons which remain unclear, his car left the roadway and struck a pole.

Preliminarily, speed appears to be a factor.  Investigators are working to identify the victim.
