Suspect in 2012 Oxon Hill Murder In Custody




A suspect is in custody for the 2012 murder of 31-year-old Jearmar Oswald Lee of the 700 block of Neptune Avenue in Oxon Hill. The suspect is identified as 24-year-old Deandre Cornelius Jenkins of the 5200 block of Karl Place in Northeast, Washington.

On December 20, 2012, at about 10:00 pm, patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Neptune Avenue for a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered Lee suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Lee was shot and killed during an armed robbery. Two other suspects were arrested shortly after the murder. They are identified as 22-year-old Jason Deon Jones of the 700 block of Neptune Avenue and 24-year-old Steven Bly of the 1800 block of Frederick Douglas Place in Southeast, Washington.

Jenkins was arrested today at his home. He’s charged with first degree murder. He’s currently in custody in the District awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.
