detectives will revisit the Lanham neighborhood where 26-year-old Shayne Francis Snipes
was fatally shot on August 1, 2014. Detectives will pass out flyers and
canvass the area looking for information to further their investigation.
A reward of up to $25,000 dollars is being offered for information leading to
an arrest and indictment in this case.
On
August 1, 2014, at about 11:15 pm, patrol officers responded to the 8600 block
of Greenbelt Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found Snipes in a
parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he
later died.

Updated August 2, 2014: The victim is identified as 26-year-old Shayne Francis Snipes of Woodthrust Drive in Lanham.
The Prince George's County Police Department is investigating a murder in Lanham.
On August 1, 2014, at about 11:15 pm, patrol officers were called to the 8600 block of Greenbelt Road for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds outside in a parking lot. He died of his injuries several hours later. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify the suspect(s) in this case.
