PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Accokeek

The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Accokeek.  The victim is identified as 61-year-old Lucia Miriam Amaya-Brown of Whitecliff Court in Accokeek.

On October 27, 2014, at about 5:20 am, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Route 210 and Berry Road for the report of a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found Amaya-Brown in the roadway with critical injuries.  She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Route 210 when it struck Amaya-Brown. She was not in a crosswalk at the time. The driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
