PGPD Investigates Bladensburg Police Department Officer-Involved Shooting

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a Bladensburg Police Department officer-involved shooting.

On July 19, 2015, at about 12:30 am, the involved Bladensburg Police Department officer was working secondary employment at a restaurant in the 4300 block of Kenilworth Avenue. The preliminary investigation reveals Officer Michael Luciotti became aware of a domestic dispute in the parking lot between the suspect and a woman. After approaching the couple, the officer observed that the suspect appeared intoxicated. Preliminarily, it appears while trying to keep the suspect from driving away, the officer was dragged by the suspect’s car door. While being dragged, the officer discharged his duty weapon, striking the suspect. Despite being shot, the suspect drove away from the scene and abandoned his car nearby. About 45 minutes later, a Prince George’s County Police patrol officer initiated a traffic stop on a car for a traffic violation in Lanham. The suspect was a passenger in that car. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. He’s currently in intensive care.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call detectives at 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. Any questions about the suspect’s identity or potential charges against him should be directed to the Bladensburg Police Department.
