PGPD Among First in Nation to Poll Residents on Services Via Nextdoor

Our department is proud to be among the first across the country to poll the members of our community who are signed up with Nextdoor. Nextdoor is a private social network that allows only verified neighbors to participate. With Nextdoor Polls, we can now ask Nextdoor users questions about public safety and then analyze the results down to the neighborhood level.

Through these polls, we have learned a majority of residents found neighborhood crime reports the most helpful information the department shares on Nextdoor, followed by incident-specific information and emergency notifications.

We partnered with Nextdoor last July. More than 220 neighborhoods in Prince George’s County, and more than 98,000 neighborhoods across the United States, use Nextdoor. Those interested in joining their neighborhood’s Nextdoor website can visitwww.nextdoor.com and enter their address.
