Detectives to Canvass Seat Pleasant Neighborhood in Homicide Investigation

This evening, detectives with our Homicide Unit plan to canvass a Seat Pleasant neighborhood where a man was fatally shot late last night. The victim is 37-year-old Oscar Colindres Garcia of Joplin Street in Seat Pleasant. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On August 17th, at about 11:50 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department were called to the 7200 block of Joplin Street for a shooting. When they arrived, officers found the victim in his car outside of his home suffering from a gunshot wound. He died several hours later.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and the suspect(s). The canvass is set to begin at 7:00pm in the 7200 block of Joplin Street.
