WANTED WEDNESDAY

Homicide Suspect


We’re starting Wanted Wednesday this week with newly-released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in Langley Park in July. On the video, the suspect is seen walking and then minutes later running in the opposite direction. The victim is 33-year-old Marvin Diaz-Marin of Jasmine Terrace in Hyattsville. At about 5:00 pm on July 27th, patrol officers were called to the 2000 block of University Boulevard to check on the welfare of a man. Officers found the victim suffering from stab wounds to his body. Anyone who sees the suspect or has information on his identity is asked to please call 301-772-4925. String of Commercial Armed Robberies

Our Robbery Unit is working to arrest this suspect wanted for a string of armed robberies in our county and in neighboring jurisdictions.

The suspect is linked to these robberies in Prince George’s County:

*CVS in the 6200 block of Central Avenue in Seat Pleasant on September 6th
*7-Eleven in the 8900 block of Rhode Island Avenue in College Park on October 19, 2015, at about 1:15 am  
*Shell Gas Station in the 13800 block of Annapolis Road in Bowie on October 19, 2015, at about 6:55 am

Carjacking Suspect
Abdi Omar

Our detectives with the Regional Investigation Division – Central Region are working to find and arrest 27-year-old Abdi Mohamed Omar, of the 8000 block of E Nalley Road. He’s wanted for a carjacking on Atlee Drive in Landover on August 10th at about 9:10 am. The victim went to the location to buy a vehicle listed for sale online. As the victim inspected the listed car, he was assaulted suffering minor injuries. Three suspects, including Omar, then took the victim’s car. Here are some safety tips if you plan to buy or sell an item online:  

*Never go alone to the transaction location. Always try to bring a second person with you.
*Only meet a potential buyer or seller in a public place.
*Trust your instincts. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
*Unless the item is too large to bring out of your home, never invite a buyer to your home.



Jewelry Store Armed Robbery

The suspect in these photos is wanted for an armed robbery at a jewelry store. Our investigation reveals the suspect walked into the store carrying a camouflage bag and silver handgun. The suspect opened a case and stole jewelry. This happened on September 5th at about 10:10 am at a store in the 1800 block of University Boulevard. Robbery Investigation

Our detectives are working to find and arrest this suspect who robbed a laundromat in the 4500 block of 22nd Avenue in Mt. Rainier. The robbery took place on August 31st at about 6:50 am. The suspect entered the laundromat and struck a victim several times while demanding cash. Once the suspect got the cash, he fled in a white work van. Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call 301-772-4905 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS. A cash reward is being offered in this case. 



Drugstore Theft


Detectives are working to identify these two suspects in connection with a theft of a drugstore in the 11700 block of Beltsville Drive. The suspects stole more than $1,000 worth of non-prescription drugs on August 30th at about 7:00 am. Grocery Store Theft

Detectives are working to identify these two suspects in connection with a pharmacy theft at a grocery store in the 10500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway. The second suspect jumped over the pharmacy counter taking prescription drugs on September 5th at about 11:30 am.
