Marlon Marshall

The Homicide Unit arrested one suspect in connection with a recent fatal stabbing in Seat Pleasant. The suspect is 46-year-old Marlon Marshall of the 400 block of North Van Dorn Street in Alexandria, Virginia. Detectives need your help to identify the second suspect wanted in this homicide. The two suspects are seen on this surveillance video moments before the stabbing.

On February 7th, at about 12:00 pm, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department responded to the 6400 block of Central Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they discovered 34-year-old Jamal Barnes suffering from trauma to his upper body. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Preliminarily, detectives believe the stabbing stemmed from a dispute between the suspects and victim. Marshall is charged with first and second degree murder and related charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
