Detectives Arrest Suspect in Forestville Homicide

Detectives arrested the suspect in this morning’s homicide in Forestville. The suspect is 42-year-old Delante Sellers-Mason of the 7200 block of Donnell Place in Forestville. He’s charged with fatally shooting 26-year-old Thaddeus Tate of Donnell Place. The suspect and victim were neighbors.  

On March 3rd, shortly after midnight, patrol officers were called to the 7200 block of Donnell Place for a shooting. The officers found Tate inside of an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect and victim were involved in a dispute prior to the shooting.

Sellers-Mason fled the apartment following the shooting. He was located and arrested a short time later not far from the scene. He is charged with first and second degree murder and is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
