Detectives Investigate Homicide in Capitol Heights

Homicide Unit detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Capitol Heights late Wednesday night. The victim is 31-year-old Timothy Wimbush of W Street in Southeast Washington. A cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On March 8th, at about 11:25 pm, a citizen flagged down an officer on patrol in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike. The officer found the victim in a parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspect in this fatal shooting.
