Homicide Victim Identified

Homicide Unit detectives are working to identify and arrest whoever fatally stabbed a man in his apartment. The victim is 26-year-old Matthew Mickens-Murrey of Newton Street. A cash reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.

On May 30th, at about 2:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5400 block of Newton Street in the unincorporated area of Hyattsville for a welfare check. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from trauma inside of his home. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Detectives are working to identify a motive and suspect in this incident.
