Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in District Heights Tuesday morning. The decedent is 29-year-old Traumone Lesene of Canal Street in Southwest Washington. Preliminarily, this does not appear to be a random shooting.
On July 11th, at about 2:40 am, patrol officers responded to the 1500 block of Forest Park Drive for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, the officers discovered Lesene outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second man was also located suffering from a gunshot wound. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Preliminarily, detectives are investigating whether the shooter’s actions were justified.
