Homicide
Unit detectives arrested and charged two suspects in connection with a homicide
in Oxon Hill in June. The suspects are 25-year-old Jarrett Jackson of the 6600
block of Highgate Drive in Fort Washington and 28-year-old Jarrell Jackson of
the 2400 block of W Rosecroft Village Circle in Oxon Hill. They’re charged with
the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Shahim Body of Oxon Hill.
On
June 6th, at about 8:40 pm, patrol officers responded to the 5200 block of
Leverett Street for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they discovered
the victim outside suffering from gunshot wounds. He died several hours later.
The
preliminary investigation reveals the fatal shooting stemmed from an ongoing
dispute between the suspects and the group the victim was with. The suspects are charged with first
degree murder and related charges.
