Detectives are investigating a homicide in
Riverdale on Saturday. The victim is 19-year-old Carlos Garita-Salazar of
Coopers Lane in Riverdale. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a
random crime.
On September 16th, at about 1:30
am, patrol officers responded to the 6000 block of 67th Place for
the report of a shooting. When they arrived, the officers discovered the victim
inside of a car suffering from trauma to his upper body. He was pronounced dead
on the scene.
Detectives are working to identify a
suspect(s) and motive in this case.
