Detectives Arrest Two Suspects in Oxon Hill Homicide

Homicide Unit detectives identified and arrested two suspects for a recent homicide in Oxon Hill. The suspects are 18-year-old Maicol Alvarado-Baide of the 500 block of Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill and 18-year-old Erlin Andrades-Zelaya of the 5000 block of Livingston Terrace in Oxon Hill. They’re both charged with the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Yefrin Argueta of South Wakefield Street in Arlington, VA. The suspects and victim were acquaintances. 

On February 25th, at approximately 10:45 pm, Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers and Prince George's County Police officers responded to the 1100 block of Marcy Avenue for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived on scene, officers found the victim outside suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

During the course of the investigation, detectives identified Andrades-Zelaya and Alvarado-Baide as the suspects. They are both suspected gang members. The motive in this homicide remains under investigation.

The suspects are charged with first and second degree murder. They are in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
