The Prince George’s County Police
Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Lewisdale. The
victim is 39-year-old Victoriano Mendez Hernandez. His last known
address is in Hayward, California.
On May 31st, at approximately 10:05 pm,
patrol officers were called to University Boulevard and West Park Drive for a collision involving a
pedestrian. When they arrived, the officers found Mendez Hernandez in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital
where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation reveals the involved SUV was heading westbound on University Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian who was in the roadway. The driver remained on the scene. Preliminarily, investigators do not believe the victim was in a crosswalk.
