PGPD Arrests Man Who Broke into Apartment in College Park & Hid in Victim’s Closet

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested the man who broke into a College Park apartment and ran off after the resident found him hiding in her closet. He is 24-year-old Eric Tata of the 4600 block of Knox Road.

  

On November 19^th, at approximately 10:50 pm, patrol officers were called to the 4600 block of Knox Road for the call of a burglary in progress. They spoke to the victim, an adult female, who says she heard a noise in her apartment and went to investigate. That’s when she found Tata in her bedroom closet wearing a towel. The victim screamed and Tata ran off. The victim was not hurt.

Patrol officers immediately began to canvass the area looking for the suspect. Through investigative means, it was learned that Tata had returned to his apartment in a neighboring building. He was taken into custody without incident.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who may have had a similar experience with Tata.

Tata is charged with fourth-degree burglary, trespassing and trespassing/peeping tom. When he was presented before the county commissioner, the commissioner released him on a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.

PGPD Arresta Individuo Que Irrumpió Apartamento en College Park y Se Escondió en Clóset de la Víctima

La Policía del Condado de Prince George’s arrestó al individuo que entró ilegalmente a un apartamento en College Park y se dio a la fuga luego de que la residente le encontrase escondido en su clóset. Éste fue identificado como Eric Tata, de 24 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 4600 de Knox Road.

El 19 de noviembre, a eso de las 10:50 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 4600 de Knox Road tras recibir información sobre un escalamiento. Éstos hablaron con la víctima, una fémina adulta, quien indicó haber escuchado un ruido en su apartamento, lo que provocó que fuese a investigar. Fue entonces cuando halló a Tata en el clóset de su cuarto con una toalla puesta. La víctima gritó y Tata huyó del apartamento. La víctima no resultó herida.

Los oficiales de patrulla de inmediato comenzaron a hacer un recorrido del área en busca del sospechoso. Mediante diversas técnicas investigativas, supieron que Tata había regresado a su apartamento en un edificio cercano. Éste fue tomado bajo custodia sin incidente alguno.
