At that time, the City of Hyattsville Police Department began a criminal investigation against Wiggins and our agency suspended his police powers as the investigation continued. Questions about the case should be directed to the City of Hyattsville Police Department.
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Investigation Response Team within the Internal Affairs Division launched an administrative investigation which is ongoing.
Wiggins is assigned to the Bureau of Investigation. He joined the PGPD in 2012.

Gran Jurado Acusa a Oficial Suspendido
Un gran jurado del Condado de Prince
George’s acusó ayer a un suspendido oficial del Departamento de la Policía. El
oficial Sharrod Wiggins fue acusado de exposiciones deshonestas, agresión en
segundo grado y otros cargos relacionados. Las alegaciones contra Wiggins
sugieren que el incidente ocurrió mientras éste se encontraba fuera de horas
laborables en la Ciudad de Hyattsville, durante el mes de abril de 2019.
Para esa fecha, el Departamento de la
Policía de la Ciudad de Hyattsville abrió una investigación criminal centrada
en Wiggins y nuestra agencia le suspendió mientras la misma seguía su curso.
Cualquier pregunta sobre éste caso deberá ser dirigida al Departamento de la
Policía de la Ciudad de Hyattsville.
El Equipo de Respuesta Investigativa
Especial de la División de Asuntos Internos del Departamento de la Policía del
Condado de Prince George’s también abrió una pesquisa administrativa que está
en curso.
Wiggins estaba adscrito al Buró de
Investigaciones. Éste ingresó a PGPD en el 2012.
