The
Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit identified and charged
a suspect wanted for a murder that occurred in the City of Seat Pleasant on
Tuesday. He is identified as 22-year-old Nevonia Evans of the 1300 block of
Saratoga Avenue NE in Washington D.C. He was arrested this morning in the
District of Columbia. Evans is charged with the murder of 28-year-old Curtis
Mark Jones, Jr. of Suitland.
On
December 3rd, at approximately 4:45 pm, officers responded to a
liquor store in the 6400 block of Central Avenue. The victim was found
suffering from a gunshot wound inside of the business. He was pronounced dead
on the scene.
The
preliminary investigation reveals Evans and the victim were involved in a
confrontation inside of the liquor store prior to the fatal shooting. The
reason for the confrontation is unknown at this time and remains under
investigation.
Evans is charged with first and second degree
murder and related charges. He is currently in custody in the District awaiting
extradition to Prince George’s County.
The
Prince George’s County Police Department investigates all Homicides in the City
of Seat Pleasant.

Sospechoso Bajo Custodia por Mortal Tiroteo del Martes
en la Ciudad de Seat Pleasant
La Unidad de Homicidios del
Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s identificó y sometió
cargos contra el sospechoso de un asesinato ocurrido el martes en la Ciudad de
Seat Pleasant. Éste fue identificado como Nevonia Evans, de 22 años de edad y
vecino de la cuadra 1300 de Saratoga Avenue NE en Washington DC. A Evans se le
acusa por el asesinato de Curtis Mark Jones Jr., de 28 años de edad y vecino de
Suitland.
El 3 de diciembre, a eso de las 4:45
pm, nuestros oficiales acudieron a una tienda de licores en la cuadra 6400 de
Central Avenue. La víctima fue hallada con una herida de bala, dentro de la
tienda. Le declararon muerto en la escena.
La investigación preliminar reveló
que Evans y la víctima tuvieron una confrontación dentro de la tienda, previo
al asesinato a tiros. En estos momentos se desconoce la razón de la
confrontación y la misma permanece bajo investigación.
Evans enfrenta cargos por asesinato
en primer y segundo grado, entre otros. Al momento se encuentra bajo custodia
en DC mientras aguarda ser extraditado al Condado de Prince George’s.
El Departamento de la Policía del
Condado de Prince George’s investiga todo homicidio que ocurra en la Ciudad de
Seat Pleasant.
