Raymond Williams
On March 14th, at approximately 3:55 am, Prince George’s County Police patrol officers responded to a convenience store in the 5500 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill for the report of a fire. The officers located the victim, an adult male who works at the store, suffering significant burns to his face and body. Witnesses advised that Williams had come into the store posing as a customer. The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect approached the counter with a cup in his hand containing a liquid that smelled like gasoline. He asked the victim for a pack of cigarettes. When the victim turned around to get the cigarettes, the suspect started a fire in the cup he was holding. As the victim turned back around, the suspect doused the victim’s face with the ignited gasoline. The suspect then jumped the counter and grabbed approximately 20 packs of cigarettes and ran from the store. The fire began to spread throughout the business. A witness called 911.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital and is being treated for critical burns. PGPD officers immediately began canvassing the area for the suspect. The officers located him several minutes later at the intersection of Neptune Avenue and Kenmont Road in Oxon Hill. The stolen cigarettes were recovered from the suspect’s bag. He confessed to the crimes.
The Prince George’s County Police Department charged Williams with attempted murder, first degree assault, armed robbery, first degree arson and additional charges. He is in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A court commissioner ordered him held on a no-bond status.

PGPD Arresta a Individuo Por Incendio y Asesinato
Atentado de Empleado de una Tienda de Primera Necesidad
La Policía del Condado de Prince
George’s arrestó y sometió cargos contra un individuo por el asesinato atentado
de un empleado de una tienda de artículos de primera necesidad. El sospechoso
además enfrenta cargos por incendio luego de haber pegado fuego a la tienda. Éste
ha sido identificado como Raymond Williams, de 25 años de edad y vecino de la
cuadra 2300 de Ainger Place en Southeast Washington DC.
El 14 de marzo, a eso de las 3:55 am,
nuestros oficiales de patrulla acudieron a una tienda de primera necesidad
ubicada en la cuadra 5500 de Livingston Road en Oxon Hill tras recibir
información sobre un incendio. Los oficiales hallaron a la víctima, un hombre
adulto, con serias quemaduras en el rostro y a lo largo del cuerpo. Varios testigos
indicaron que Williams había entrado a la tienda haciéndose pasar por un cliente.
La investigación preliminar reveló que el sospechoso se acercó a la caja
registradora con un vaso en la mano, el cual contenía un líquido que olía a
gasolina. El individuo le pidió a la víctima una cajetilla de cigarrillos y al
éste virarse, el individuo le tiró gasolina encendida en la cara. Entonces, el
sospechoso brincó por el mostrador, agarró aproximadamente 20 cajetillas de
cigarrillos y huyó de la tienda. El fuego comenzó a regarse por el negocio y un
testigo llamó al 911.
La víctima fue trasladada rápidamente
a un hospital del área en donde se encuentra recibiendo tratamiento por
quemaduras severas. Oficiales de PGPD de inmediato comenzaron a recorrer el área para dar con el
sospechoso. Éstos lo hallaron varios minutos después en la intersección entre
Neptune Avenue y Kenmont Road, en el área de Oxon Hill. Los cigarrillos robados
fueron recuperados del bolso del sospechoso y éste confesó sus crímenes.
El Departamento de la Policía de
Prince George’s County sometió cargos contra Williams por tentativa de asesinato,
agresión en primer grado e incendio en primer grado, entre otros. Éste se
encuentra bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección. Un comisionado de la
corte ordenó a que se le retuviera sin derecho a fianza.
