The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has arrested and charged a suspect for a recent murder in Riverdale. The suspect is 28-year-old Rutilio Orellana of the 5600 block of 61st Place in Riverdale. He’s charged with the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Shauntese Gedeon of Riverdale.
On January 29, 2021, at approximately 10:30 pm, patrol officers responded to the report of a shooting in the 5300 block of Hamilton Street. The victim was located in a parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
The preliminary investigation reveals the suspect shot the victim during an argument. The victim and suspect are known to each other.
Orellana is charged with first and second degree murder and additional charges.

Detectives Arrestan Sospechoso por Homicidio en
Riverdale
La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de la Policía de Prince George’s arrestó y sometió cargos contra un sospechoso por un asesinato ocurrido recientemente en Riverdale. El sospechoso fue identificado como Rutilio Orellana, de 28 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 5600 de 61st Place en Riverdale. A este se le imputa el asesinato a tiros de Shauntese Gedeon, de 32 años de edad y vecina de Riverdale.
El 29 de enero de 2021, a eso de las 10:30 pm, nuestros oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la cuadra 5300 de Hamilton Street tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. A la víctima le hallaron con múltiples heridas de bala en un área de estacionamiento. A esta le declararon muerta en un hospital poco después.
La investigación preliminar reveló que el sospechoso le disparó a la víctima en medio de un argumento. La víctima y el sospechoso se conocían entre sí.
Orellana enfrenta cargos por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros.
