Homicide Unit detectives arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Suitland on Monday. They are 19-year-old Keimoni Shepard of the 9000 block of Edmonston Road in Greenbelt and 19-year-old Brendan Cooley of the 2300 block of Whitehall Street in Suitland. They’re charged with fatally shooting 30-year-old Marceese Norman of District Heights.
On
March 29, 2021, at approximately 7:30 pm, officers responded to the 2300 block
of Whitehall Street. The victim was located inside of a car suffering from
multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The
preliminary investigation revealed the suspects and victim are known to each
other and had been involved in an on-going dispute.
The
suspects are charged with first and second degree murder and related charges.
They are in the custody of the Department of Corrections. A commissioner
ordered them held on a no-bond status.

Detectives Arrestan a Dos Sospechosos por Mortal
Tiroteo en Suitland
Detectives de la Unidad de Homicidios arrestaron a dos sospechosos en conexión al mortal tiroteo que se produjo en Suitland el lunes. Estos fueron identificados como Keimoni Shepard, de 19 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 9000 de Edmonston Road en Greenbelt, y Brendan Cooley, de 19 años de edad y vecino de la cuadra 2300 de Whitehall Street en Suitland. A estos se les imputa haber matado a tiros a Marceese Norman, de 30 años de edad y vecina de District Heights.
El 29 de marzo de 2021, a eso de las 7:30 pm, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 2300 de Whitehall Street. Estos hallaron a la víctima con múltiples heridas de bala dentro de un vehículo. A esta le declararon muerta en la escena.
La investigación preliminar reveló que los sospechosos y la víctima se conocían entre sí y había una disputa entre estos.
Los sospechosos enfrentan cargos por asesinato en primer y segundo grado, entre otros. Estos se encuentran bajo la custodia del Departamento de Corrección. Un comisionado ordenó a que se les retuviera sin derecho a fianza.
