CHILD SHOT AND KILLED IN LANDOVER

 The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred last night in Landover.  The victim is an 8-year-old male of Capitol Heights. 

On August 24, 2021 officers responded to the 1600 block of Brightseat Rd for reports of a shooting.  Once on scene, officers discovered the 8-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.  The child was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a group of adults were gathered outside of the residence when for reasons that remain under investigation, a white colored sedan pulled into the parking lot and a suspect(s) began shooting at the victims.  The suspect vehicle fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Menor de Edad Muere a Tiros en Landover

La Unidad de Homicidios del Departamento de la Policía del Condado de Prince George’s investiga un mortal tiroteo que se registró anoche en Landover. La víctima fue un niño de 8 años, vecino del área de Capitol Heights.

El 24 de agosto de 2021, nuestros oficiales acudieron a la cuadra 1600 de Brightseat Road tras recibir información sobre un tiroteo. Al llegar a la escena, los oficiales hallaron al niño de 8 años con una herida de bala. Al niño le trasladaron a un hospital del área en donde le declararon fenecido.

La investigación preliminar reveló que un grupo de adultos se encontraba fuera de la residencia cuando, por razones que continúan siendo investigadas, un sedan color blanco entró al área de estacionamiento y un/unos sospechoso(s) comenzó/comenzaron a dispararle a las víctimas. El vehículo sospechoso huyó de la escena y al momento se desconoce en qué dirección.
