Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and- Run in Largo Under Investigation

The department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that occurred Monday evening in Largo. The deceased pedestrian is 40-year-old Barkha Khadka of Landover. The driver of the striking vehicle did not remain on the scene. Investigators have since recovered a potential vehicle of interest in this case. Efforts continue to identify the driver.   

On November 22, 2021, at approximately 6:55 pm, patrol officers were called to the intersection of Medical Center Drive and Shoppers Way for the report of a collision involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle traveling eastbound on Medical Center Drive struck Khadka as she attempted to cross the street. Khadka was taken to an area hospital where she died a short time later.

Bajo Investigación Mortal Choque-y-Fuga Contra Peatón en Largo

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque-y-fuga que se registró el lunes en Largo y acabó con la vida de una peatona. La fenecida peatona fue identificada como Barkha Khadka, de 40 años y vecina de Landover. El conductor(a) del vehículo que le impactó no permaneció en la escena. Los detectives del caso lograron recuperar un vehículo de interés para la investigación. Estos continúan buscando identificar al conductor(a) responsable.

El 22 de noviembre de 2021, a eso de las 6:55 pm, oficiales de patrulla acudieron a la intersección entre Medical Center Drive y Shoppers Way tras recibir información sobre un choque que involucraba a un peatón.

La investigación preliminar reveló que un vehículo que viajaba en dirección este sobre Medical Center Drive impactó a Khadka mientras esta intentaba cruzar la calle. A Khadka le trasladaron a un hospital del área en donde murió poco después.
