The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal collision in New Carrollton. The deceased driver is 20-year-old Chris Brian Orellana of Lanham.
On June 28, 2022, at approximately 8:35 pm, officers responded to the 7300 block of Good Luck Road for a collision involving two vehicles.
The preliminary investigation reveals Orellana was driving eastbound on Good Luck Road, when for reasons that are under investigation, he lost control of his vehicle which crossed the center double yellow line and struck a minivan travelling westbound on Good Luck Road. Orellana was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver and passengers of the van were taken to the hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
