Fatal Collision Under Investigation

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred earlier this month in District Heights. The deceased passenger is 48-year-old Corey Forrest of Oxon Hill. 

On July 15, 2022, at approximately 10:35 pm, officers responded to Pennsylvania Avenue near Brooks Drive for a collision.  

The preliminary investigation revealed Forrest was a passenger in a car travelling northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue, when for reasons that are under investigation, the car left the roadway and ultimately came to rest in a parking lot striking multiple unoccupied vehicles. The driver was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Forrest was also taken to a hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries on July 19, 2022.

La unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Colisiones está investigando un choque fatal que ocurrió a principios del mes en District Heights. El pasajero fallecido es, Corey Forrest de 48 años de edad de Oxon Hill. 

El 15 de Julio, del 2022, aproximadamente a las 10:35 pm, oficiales respondieron a la Pensilvania Avenue cerca de la Brooks Drive a reporte de un choque. 

La investigación preliminar reveló que Forrest era un pasajero en un carro que viajaba sobre la Pensilvania Avenue dirección Norte, cuando por razones que siguen bajo investigación, el carro se salió de la carretera y finalmente se detuvo en un estacionamiento golpeando a varios vehículos desocupados. El conductor fue trasladado al hospital con lesiones que amenazan la vida. Forrest también fue trasladado al hospital para recibir tratamiento donde falleció por las lesiones el 19 de Julio, del 2022.
