The Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Friday evening. The victim is 23-year-old Damonte Bonner of Hyattsville. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On July 15, 2022, at approximately 8:35 pm, officers responded to the 3500 block of 55th Avenue in the unincorporated section of Hyattsville for a shooting. The victim was located outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased a short time later at a hospital.
Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect(s).
