PGPD Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Collision

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in the Adelphi area. The victim is 52-year-old Christopher Carter of Fort Washington. 

On October 20, 2022, at approximately 10:10 am, officers responded to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Metzerott Road. 

The preliminary investigation revealed Carter was working as a construction worker at the time of the collision. For reasons now under investigation, the driver struck the victim who was in a closed section of the roadway. Carter was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the striking vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

PGPD Investiga Mortal Choque Contra Peatón

La Unidad de Análisis y Reconstrucción de Choques investiga un mortal choque peatonal que se registró en el área de Adelphi. La víctima fue identificada como Christopher Carter, de 52 años y vecino de Fort Washington.

El 20 de octubre de 2022, a eso de las 10:10 am, nuestros oficiales acudieron al área entre New Hampshire Avenue y Metzerott Road para atender un incidente vehicular.

La investigación preliminar reveló que Carter estaba llevando a cabo labores de construcción al momento del choque. Por razones que están siendo investigadas, el conductor impactó a la víctima quien se encontraba en una zona cerrada de la carretera. A Carter le declararon fenecido en la escena. El conductor del vehículo que le impactó fue trasladado a un hospital con lesiones menos graves.
