The Homicide Unit is working to identify and arrest the suspect(s) who fatally shot a man Tuesday evening. The victim is 65-year-old Leon Steadham of Washington, DC. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
On December 6, 2022, at approximately 7:10 pm, officers responded to the 1200 block of Abel Avenue for the report of a shooting. Once on scene, they located Steadham in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Detectives are working to identify a suspect(s) and a motive.
